By funding this project you are helping our program update our materials so that we can more efficiently create yearbooks. \r\nThe SD cards that were donated made it possible for each student to have their own card that they use when they are out on assignment. The SD card holder provides a secure way for us to store these cards to prevent them from being lost or mixed up. The wireless mouse and keyboard made is possible for us to easily rearrange the desk so that it is more efficiently set up, and can be moved when not in use. \r\n\r\nThough we haven't used them yet, the students are excited to have the erasable pens to make corrections on spreads. We used the thank you cards to send thank you's to businesses who helped support our program by purchasing ads last year and it has already helped us secure some ad sales for this year. The desk has made a huge difference in organization availability for our editor in chief. The class as a whole appreciates how much nicer this desk is than our last one, both in functionality and in looks. Everything you donated, even if it wasn't mentioned specifically in this thank you, is very appreciated. Although it may not seem like much or the fanciest technology, it leaves a lasting impact. First, the calculators you helped get us are scientific calculators, and often the only type of calculator allowed for use in higher education science. So with these calculators, the students can become familiar with them and be further prepared for college. Additionally, the calculators we had were not suitable for the material we were using with them. However, the math department needed new calculators, so those were prefect for them! The students really enjoy getting the opportunity to have calculators in class also, as some cannot afford them. It is truly a beneficial gift that we are grateful for across the school.","fullyFundedDate":1746785782821,"projectUrl":"project/scientific-calculators-for-future-scient/9325775/","projectTitle":"Scientific Calculators for Future Scientists","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Stratman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9647460"},{"teacherId":9447169,"projectId":9089838,"letterContent":"Thank you for helping me fund to get new novels for our Christmas Carol unit for seniors! By funding this project you are helping our high school ELA department teach writing skills to grades freshmen through senior. The book you helped us purchase will be used to strengthen our writing program. \r\nThe first thing we did with this guide was have juniors construct annotated bibliographies for a research paper they had constructed. The students did not have must experience with these bibliographies so we were able to pull examples from this book to guide their learning. \r\nLooking forward to next year, our department plans on using this book to help us build our students' grammar skills. Specifically, we are going to look for ways to create bell ringers or 'do nows' for our students using exercises from these books. They used dimensional analysis in calculating density of it, used pH, and analyzed the bonds relating to energy. They were excited to apply the concepts and create slime during the week. Especially after they had just taken the ACT. It was a good break for them and made them laugh, especially when they made a mistake and their slime did not turn out. \r\n\r\nWhen the materials for this lab came in, I was very grateful. It made it all the better when the students were excited about it. They said \"let's go!\" and were quick to ask when they would get to do the lab. I learned that next time we do this, it would be better to show them everything at the end of the period, because once they saw it, that was all they were able to focus on. \r\n\r\nThe next thing my students will do is build onto this. We are constantly building on concepts in chemistry. We will relate this to solutions, mixtures, and calculating pH.","fullyFundedDate":1731540037763,"projectUrl":"project/the-chemistry-and-physics-of-slime/8625693/","projectTitle":"The Chemistry and Physics of Slime","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Stratman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9647460"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_78807","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":244,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":36,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":88,"percentIndigenous":4,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"12.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":52.6,"schoolId":78807,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Shepherd High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Shepherd High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/montana/shepherd-school-district-37/shepherd-high-school/78807"}
