Your contribution made a significant impact on our young learners, helping them explore and enjoy the wonders of Science in a fun and engaging way.\r\n\r\nThanks to the resources you provided, the children had the opportunity to participate in several hands-on activities that sparked their curiosity and creativity. One of the highlights was the table-top building project, where the kids used pipe tubes and blocks to construct various objects. The joy on their faces when they saw their completed toys was truly priceless, and it helped them understand basic principles of engineering and design.\r\n\r\nAnother memorable activity involved exploring the concept of buoyancy through a sink-or-float experiment. The children were amazed to see certain items sink while others floated. Their eyes lit up with wonder as they realized how the different materials behaved in water. After several trials, they developed the ability to predict which items would sink and which would float, and their confidence in applying their new knowledge grew each time.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting activities was building the orbiting solar system. One of my students, in particular, was absolutely fascinated by the planets. Watching him eagerly assemble the model and seeing his excitement when it worked perfectly was a moment of true joy. This hands-on project not only taught the children about the solar system but also encouraged them to think critically and problem-solve.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, I am thrilled to introduce the next theme to the class: the Life Cycle. I can't wait to see how the children respond to this new topic, and I know that with your continued support, we will be able to make this lesson just as engaging and impactful as the last.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you for your kindness and generosity. Your contributions are truly making a difference in these young learners' lives, and I am incredibly grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1752832295666,"projectUrl":"project/little-explorers-hands-on-science-fun-f/9188056/","projectTitle":"Little Explorers: Hands-On Science Fun for Preschoolers!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Eme Manda","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9752743"},{"teacherId":4179794,"projectId":9586938,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to my classroom. Your generosity has made such a meaningful impact on both my students and me. Because of your support, I've been able to create a variety of engaging, hands-on learning centers that allow my students to explore, experiment, and stay focused. I've also been able to better organize my data, which helps me tailor instruction and meet the unique needs of each student more effectively.\r\n\r\nI have seen such growth in my students—they are learning more, learning faster, and staying on task because they are actively involved in their learning. It is such a joy to watch their excitement and curiosity grow every day.\r\n\r\nI am truly grateful to each of you who donated and believed in my classroom. My kids love getting out of their desks and having flexible seating. Sometimes it is easier for kids to find a quiet spot to either work independently or with a friend. We have just finished our last science kit (Force and Motion). We have been experimenting with the science kits. We made parachutes to go with our Force and Motion science kit and then tried them outside. This made for quite an interesting recess for all the students, not just our 3rd graders. The second kit was a Habitat kit. The students loved this one. We did some experimenting and then the students did research and created Google slides to present their information. The third kit was a Weather and Climate science kit. We have quite the interesting weather in Montana and the students had a wonderful time experimenting with this kit. We also went outside and blew bubbles in the extreme cold during winter. We also discussed why our seasons and climates are different than in other parts of the world. The students have so much enjoyed the science kits. Thank you very much for supplying these kits for us. \r\n The students have also enjoyed exploring multiplication and division with the MathStackers. They are a great way for kids to \"see\" how multiplication and division work in a hands-on way. I also used them with my lower students that are working on addition and subtractions. It gave them a hands-on method of learning these concepts.","fullyFundedDate":1725243251965,"projectUrl":"project/stem-is-like-magic-only-real/8724044/","projectTitle":"STEM Is Like Magic - Only Real!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Barnhill","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9693214"},{"teacherId":9752743,"projectId":8835918,"letterContent":"I am incredibly grateful for your generous support in funding my classroom projects. It also helped with their fine motor skills of putting them together or pulling them apart. We used the Color Identification Poster to review their color names and their new Shape Tracing Mats to practice tracing geometric shapes. Lastly, they literally jumped for joy as we laid out the Spot Narker Floor Spots that I wrote numbers on them 1-10 so they could identify the number I gave them through a kinesthetic activity. \r\n\r\nAs I continue to incorporate these manipulatives throughout the year, I am positive that this will help them progress through each math standard with a better grasp and build a love for math through active play using these purchased manipulatives.","fullyFundedDate":1727650902284,"projectUrl":"project/building-math-connections-using-manipu/8833482/","projectTitle":"Building Math Connections - Using Manipulatives Through Purposeful Activities","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. White","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9114232_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1690234027337","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9114232"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_78752","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":294,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":59,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":70,"percentIndigenous":4,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"15.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":78752,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Shelby Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Shelby Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/montana/shelby-public-schools/shelby-elementary-school/78752"}
