The flexible seating options for the project, Cush For Our Tush, made it possible for my students to access their environment from a variety of positions with stability and comfort so they can focus on learning. \r\nSome of the students in my class have a difficult time sitting in a standard, regular chair so I wanted to offer a variety of seating options to accommodate their special needs and unique characteristics. The Yes4All Extra Large Foam Balance Pads provided extra cushion support for their sensitive knees and bottoms while sitting on the floor to play. The Bouncy Band Wiggle Seat supported students who wanted to be closer to the ground but also felt the urge to wiggle on the floor which helped maintain their focus. The Lakeshore Classic Birch Transition Chairs have supportive sides, an arm rest, and adjustable safety belt which provides a more secure feeling and matches our existing chair set.\r\nMy intention for this project was to provide a variety of flexible seating options in our classroom environment for my students to be comfortable and meet their unique needs. This project met and exceeded my expectations. My students have the opportunity to choose their supportive seat and be comfortable while they learn. The Ez Pz Mini Cup + Straw Training System made with 100% Silicone Training Cups are non-slip and helped my students drink safely and effectively. The Nuby No-Spill Sippy Cup with Flex Straw made it easy for my students to grip as they are specifically tailored for little toddler hands which meant less spilling. The ergonomic designs of all of the drinkware promoted independent drinking. Additionally, all of the cups reduced our use of single-use, disposable cups that we used on a daily basis and supported student independence with self-care skills. \r\nMy intention for this project was to provide opportunities for my students to gain independence while doing our part in making the earth a better place. The Kaplan Early Learning Toddler Light Table is the perfect size for the toddlers in my class.
