I work with 65 students across 7 grade levels (K-6th) with a variety of needs. While I am grateful for my school providing some money for a budget, there are many resources that I have been looking at for some time to support my wonderful students. I am so very grateful for your gift to make this happen. My students began the year with bright new materials, engaging decor and excitement thanks to your thoughtfulness. The biggest impact I have noticed is students seeing themselves as characters in the books your generosity has provided. It's Hard to be a Verb, Benji's Busy Brain, and The Boy with the Faster Brain have been so meaningful to my students. It has been so rewarding for them to understand how their brains and bodies work and realize that they are not alone and have unique strengths. The students I work with tend to have difficulty understanding figurative language, but the simple design and engaging pictures on the 100 Idioms cards make learning idioms interesting. The speech sound books, allow us to work on a sound through the course of reading a story and make it feel less like work for my students. These have been in my personal Amazon cart for YEARS because they are not available from suppliers that typically partner with school districts and would need to be purchased out of my personal account. Due to the cost of the materials, they have not been attainable for my students. We have also used every chair band, and they help my students with wiggly feet focus on their work and to become more engaged in their lessons both in my speech room, and the classroom. We have used every game, every book, and every resource you have so generously contributed to. My students and I sincerely appreciate your support.","fullyFundedDate":1755534246579,"projectUrl":"project/speech-language-stars/9438962/","projectTitle":"Speech/ Language Stars","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Maietta","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10066771"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_22120","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":418,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":13,"percentWhite":63,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"17.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":73.9,"schoolId":22120,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Seventy Ninth Street Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Seventy Ninth Street Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/niagara-falls-city-school-district/seventy-ninth-street-elementary-school/22120"}
