My excitement doubled when I saw my students using the listening center in class and taking Accelerated Reading Tests on what they have listened to. He wants me to read books with him so he can take Accelerated Reader tests. He wants so badly to earn points and the rewards that go with this program. I am able to read books with him but I also need to work with my small groups on days he has library time. \r\n\r\nThe listening center has opened a love of reading for him. He can listen and follow along. He comprehends well when being read to. He listens to story that have an AR tests that then reads to him. He rarely misses any of the questions. He loves this option for reading. He feels successful and sees himself doing what the other students are doing. Every dollar that went into this project was worth it just for this one student!\r\n\r\nOther students are using the listening center as well. It is fun to watch them sit together, listen together, and share a book. They are creating a cozy, love of reading environment. I have loved bringing the listening center back into my classroom!
