With the new water basins my students have been able to learn and adapt to proper cleaning procedures in painting. We used to have to use solo water cups when we painted in class due to the lack of proper material. Sometimes these cups would break and start leaking which would create a mess and at times ruin the students work. They also struggled cleaning their brushes off properly since there was no grooves to scrub their brushes. Now with the new basins they can make sure their brushes are properly cleaned and they don't have to worry about spills. On top of this they can now store their brushes as they are working. \r\n\r\nWhen the students were first presented with the water basins they were so relieved they didn't have to start digging for cups again. Their faces lit up with joy and made statements such as, \"Wow, these are nice!!!!\", \"Finally, no more cups.\" I said we are very lucky as these were donated to you guys. My students come from struggling families and when they are provided with anything they are very grateful. They were happy with just being able to paint, but with the right tools and supplies this shows them how much we value them.\r\n\r\nCurrently my students are working on a Pop Art themed project using acrylic paint, and these water basins have been put to work. Next up we will be working on a great artist study where the students will be introduced to watercolors and will be tasked to complete a watercolor painting based off of one of Winslow Homers landscapes. I am so eager to see their hard work come to life. Everyday with them inspires me to try to give them every learning possibility possible. With your support I have seen these kids grow and learn to be responsible community members!","fullyFundedDate":1739366796459,"projectUrl":"project/brush-cleaning-supplies-and-skills-are-e/8988393/","projectTitle":"Brush Cleaning Supplies and Skills Are Essential in Art.","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lopez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9476490_orig.png?crop=398,398,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1709670046673","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9476490"},{"teacherId":9892780,"projectId":9051445,"letterContent":"I have to say a huge thank you for your generous donation of art supplies!\r\n\r\nWe recieved our package two weeks before \"Pi Week\" which enabled us to make amazing posters advertising all of our events and dress up days for the week. \r\n\r\nWhen I presented the gift to my class, they were so happy to finally have black paint sticks!! They also are loving the metallic colors as well. They love the black craft paper and have decided the metallic paint goes very well on that black paper-it pops!\r\n\r\nFresh paint sticks and paper have motivated and inspired my students to get creative, be colorful, and it has given them the desire to make more advertisements/ informationsl posters for all students on campus.
