The flexible seating options, especially the sensory tiles, have been a huge hit. Many students enjoy choosing where they sit, whether it's on the rug during whole-group activities or at different stations during small group instruction. This flexibility has not only made them more engaged but has also allowed them to feel comfortable and take ownership of their learning space. It's been amazing to see how the seating arrangement has helped foster collaboration and creativity among them.\r\n\r\nThe room dividers have also proven to be a valuable addition. They've created designated learning spaces where students can focus and find some quiet when they need it, especially when they are feeling dysregulated. These calming areas allow for individual space and help manage sensory overload, which has been beneficial for their emotional well-being. The manipulatives and games during centers have made learning feel more interactive and enjoyable. Whether working on math skills or exploring new concepts, the hands-on materials make the learning process feel more tangible. Thanks to the generous donations of materials, all students now have the tools they need to fully access the curriculum and feel excited about learning in new, dynamic ways.","fullyFundedDate":1726260386170,"projectUrl":"project/empower-special-education-classroom-with/8748583/","projectTitle":"Empower Special Education Classroom with Sensory Supports and Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Urckfitz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9531417_orig.jpg?crop=1863,1863,x0,y167&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1715087630158","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9531417"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_21467","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":548,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":19,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":78,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":21467,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Scribner Road Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Scribner Road Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/penfield-central-school-district/scribner-road-elementary-school/21467"}
