Not only were they excited to receive them, but some students noticed the boards were double sided and the markers had its own eraser which they shared with their friends. No more depending on tissue paper to erase our work. Allow me to say thank you once again.\r\nUpon receiving this gift we delve right into our skill building exercises. Immediately after lunch as the students enter the room, the class helper distributes the whiteboards. We practice writing letters, especially those in our first name. Then we move onto writing CVC words (like cat, rug, wig, etc) to encourage students to use their knowledge of letter sound links to spell each word. We combine this drill with rhyming words review. Sometimes students are challenged in small group to write dictated sentences as a way to prepare them for Kindergarten. They are also encouraged to generate their own sentences by attempting to describe their favorite pet (as you can see from some of the photos.) I am particularly proud of one student who was unable until now to print his entire first name legibly. With the help of the white board and daily practices, he has finally made his mark. We also enjoy Math practice drills (addition and subtraction facts with numbers 0 to 10). \r\nThis will be may last year teaching in the classroom, and I will be going onto opening a school of my own in West Africa. I sincerely hope this program were available to me as I continue to make a difference in the lives of children especially those in underdeveloped nations but I am truly grateful for the gift and the opportunity to have helped these 4 and 5 year old children in my class this year. I am confident that these students are well prepared for the challenges of Kindergarten next year.","fullyFundedDate":1746698801287,"projectUrl":"project/multi-use-whiteboards-for-my-pre-k-stude/9285598/","projectTitle":"Multi use Whiteboards for my Pre-K Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wright","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9805715_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746675599185","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9805715"},{"teacherId":8235925,"projectId":8931671,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity.
