I am the social studies teacher, but my degree was in English. I understand the importance of reading and work in collaboration with other classes to bring our students to an understanding of the importance in reading. I'm currently trying to help our 9th and 10th grade to obtain reading materials about the holocaust. \r\nAs the social studies teacher at the middle school level, I try to introduce the concept of acceptance of other cultures and understanding that through knowledge we build greater understanding. Every time we receive something I tell my students so they understand that there are people who truly care that they are learning and becoming great citizens.
