It is hard to describe the satisfaction it is for a teacher to witness this reaction.\r\n\r\nI know that my fifth graders are going to be extra super excited to receive the Warrior series books that you have donated. I know this because they have been patiently waiting to read the first book in the series, as they take turns and share the first book in the series. They have devoured it!\r\n\r\nThis morning I noticed a student reading one of the books before our day even began. Each day while my students are waiting for me to begin my lesson for the day several of them are entranced in the book they are reading. And the hardest thing I have to say to them as a teacher is, \"Please close your books and put them down.\" Breaks my heart. But deep inside it makes me feel so good!\r\n\r\nThis is the first year that I have to ask students to put books away so I can begin my lesson. This is a direct correlation to the incredible donations of books that we have received from DonorsChoose this year. It is such a wonderful sight to see! (Of course they have time each class to escape into these wonderful new worlds found within these books. And the list goes on. It has been fun dreaming! \r\n\r\nThe photos are just a small sample of what students are creating. But most importantly, our students from a rural town of less than 1,000 people, are getting excited about the world that is outside of this small town.
