The new school year has already begun and my students have started utilizing the new resources in our classroom.\r\n\r\nTheir personal book bins are stored in their cubbies, already full of day to day items, and ready to be filled with school books. Being able to give them each their own way to stay organized and keep their school supplies in their own space has been delightful for them! \r\n\r\nTheir storage bins for their color boxes at their tables are already in use as well. Having these has provided each student with extra working space. They have also been a great way to store things neatly. The laminating pouches helped preserve student work, classroom visuals, and center materials so they could be reused again and again. The mesh zipper pouches made it easy to keep our learning centers neat, accessible, and ready to go.\r\n\r\nThe STEM and math resources sparked curiosity and encouraged problem-solving through exploration. Students were excited to interact with these tools and build their understanding of key concepts in fun, meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nThe emotional literacy book set gave us a way to talk about big feelings in a kid-friendly way. We were able to introduce important social-emotional skills like empathy, flexible thinking, and self-regulation through engaging stories that resonated with our learners.\r\n\r\nWith your help, my students had access to a wide range of developmentally appropriate tools that supported their growth across subject areas such as academic, emotional, and social. Once the new seating options were introduced, my students were immediately more engaged and eager to participate in their lessons. They had the ability to choose seating that best supported their individual learning needs, whether during independent work or group activities.\r\n\r\nBefore, students were limited to sitting at desks or on the carpet with clipboards. After receiving the wobble stools, floor recliners, wobble cushions, and chair bands, they had more freedom to move and learn in a way that worked best for them. The wobble stools allowed students to stay focused while still moving, especially benefiting those with ADHD or high energy levels. The floor recliners provided comfortable seating throughout the room, creating cozy, productive workspaces. The wobble cushions and chair bands helped students channel their energy appropriately during whole group instruction, maintaining focus without becoming a distraction.\r\n\r\nThis project transformed our classroom. It empowered students with choice, promoted engagement, and supported differentiated learning styles. I witnessed a clear increase in motivation, better behavior during work times, and a more positive overall classroom environment. The flexible seating truly made learning more accessible and enjoyable for all of my students.","fullyFundedDate":1636219071584,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-equals-engaged-students/5847704/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating Equals Engaged Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cox","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7900857_orig.jpg?crop=828,827,x0,y289&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1626417706398","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7900857"},{"teacherId":7900857,"projectId":5634106,"letterContent":"Your generous support did more than provide a classroom rug. The rug gave us a shared space to grow, collaborate, and make lasting memories.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, my first graders experienced a richer, more connected learning environment. These Tony boxes and Tony figures have been such a beautiful addition to the classroom because they aren't essential- they're a gift.\r\nUsing our new listening center has given my students choice in their learning, picking stories and characters that interest them.
