Thanks to your support, my classroom now features a brand-new set of textbooks that offer a diverse selection of reading materials. These texts are making a significant impact by keeping my students engaged and excited about learning. It's been wonderful to see their curiosity grow as they explore stories and speeches from a wide range of voices and perspectives.\r\n\r\nThe collection features powerful and inspiring works, including Malala Yousafzai's United Nations Address and Greta Thunberg's speech on climate change. We enjoyed a summer picnic spread complete with bacon-wrapped hot dogs and watermelon prepared by our awesome school staff, and students celebrated their commitment to colleges or military service branches by taking polaroid pictures and posting them on our decision board along with their name and their decision. I was amazed that a vast majority of our senior class attended, and loved seeing them excited for themselves and each other. We also welcomed staff and some family members who got to celebrate with their students. After an acknowledgement of their hard work and bright futures, I was able to give away the amazing prizes you provided. With suspense and anticipation, one by one, the names were drawn of the students who would be taking home a brand new air fryer, coffee maker, speaker, laptop, etc, and the grand prize, the iPad. \r\n\r\nThe students absolutely loved the prize drawing - your generosity injected energy into the event, and I feel incredibly honored to have been able to send a few lucky students home with these items that will enhance their college experience. Having access to a personal device like an iPad or laptop will have a huge impact on their ability to excel in their college classes, and kitchen supplies and fun accessories will make their lives more convenient and afford them little luxuries that are so precious during the exciting, but sometimes overwhelming, transition to life after high school.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generous donation to our Decision Day celebration and to our students' success! You helped me make this event a smash hit.","fullyFundedDate":1743516503979,"projectUrl":"project/3-2-1-blastoff-sa-senior-decision-da/9096462/","projectTitle":"3, 2, 1, Blastoff! The supplies have allowed me to engage students in new stress-relief activities and have given them new ways to calm down during a hard day. \r\n\r\nThe button maker will be used towards the end of the year to give the students a fun, end-of-year gift while also providing them with resources for the summer break.
