Our children are so excited every time we get ready to cook something. They are engaged and learning the whole time we are doing our cooking activities.\r\n\r\nWe have made, biscuits, gingerbread cookies, oatmeal apple muffins, and tropical smoothies. We are planning to make pancakes, quesadillas and maybe even some mini pizzas. The children have enjoyed cooking and trying all the different foods that we have made.\r\n\r\nThe children learn so much when we cook. They learn the life skill of cooking, and also taking turns and being patient. We also practice math and literacy skills. Reading and using a recipe along with the science of cooking. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for this wonderful opportunity to cook with our kids.","fullyFundedDate":1733251852278,"projectUrl":"project/cooking-with-pre-k-kids/8834751/","projectTitle":"Cooking With Pre-K Kids","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McDougald","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5746671_orig.jpg?crop=853,853,x0,y14&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1582952331013","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5746671"},{"teacherId":9311464,"projectId":8812139,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students' eyes lit up with excitement when they saw the new toys! Simple motor skills like reaching and grasping can be particularly challenging for some of my special students, and your contribution has helped make our therapy sessions more fun and playful.\r\n\r\nThe box of pop-up scarves has allowed one of my students to demonstrate his first successful attempts at grasping an item. By adding his favorite Eric Carle figurines to the end of the scarves, he loves pulling them up and watching them pop out of the box. This small moment of achievement is huge for him, and it's heartwarming to see his confidence grow.\r\n\r\nThe big Oball has also been a hit! Its design makes it easier for students to grasp and helps them practice reaching and holding with both hands. Similarly, the infant gym, although not a typical preschool toy, has opened up new opportunities for my students to work on reaching skills in different and more supported positions.\r\n\r\nWhile these toys may seem simple at first glance, they have been thoughtfully chosen to meet specific needs and support the development of particular goals. Each small milestone, such as successfully grasping a toy or reaching for an object, may appear to be a tiny step, but they are foundational for building other motor skills and learning development.\r\n\r\nOver time, these small steps add up to significant progress. Just like your donation, which may seem like a small gesture, it creates a big impact. Your support not only enriches their playtime but also fosters their growth and development in ways that are truly meaningful. Thank you for being a part of this journey and for making a difference in the lives of my students. Your kindness is deeply appreciated.","fullyFundedDate":1727224637037,"projectUrl":"project/special-toys-for-special-students/8812139/","projectTitle":"Special Toys for Special Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Clover","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9311464"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_29586","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":106,"numTeachers":10,"percentFrplEligible":60,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":26,"percentWhite":27,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":23,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - Pre-K","studentTeacherRatio":"10.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":66.1,"schoolId":29586,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sarah Raymond Early Childhood Center on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sarah Raymond Early Childhood Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/bloomington-school-district-87/sarah-raymond-early-childhood-ctr/29586"}
