It was such a fun \"aha\" moment to watch them make those connections and take ownership of their learning.\r\n\r\nOur next big step is to get our hydroponics shelf set up and ready to grow vegetables over the winter break. One student, who previously hesitated to engage with books, has now discovered a passion for the 'Far Out Fairy Tales' series. This series, known for its creative graphic novel format that twists classic fairy tales with modern elements, has sparked her excitement for reading. She eagerly anticipates opportunities to read these stories, which is a significant step in developing her reading confidence and fluency. \r\n\r\nAnother student is also showing increased engagement and enjoyment with the 'Eerie Elementary' series. When I saw the product for the listening center, I was so excited about it that I didn't read the fine print. The product arrived at my school and I eagerly opened it and wanted to get started with it right away. However, it didn't come with any of the CDs or books. I asked around and no one had books on CD anymore. I didn't give up. I took my intervention resources home and I bought a CD burner, CDs and CD labels. I made my own CDs with my voice on it, reading the books to the kids.\r\n\r\nI absolutely LOVED learning how to do all of that for my students. I brought everything back to school and started to teach the kids how to use the product. They absolutely loved learning how to use it. However, the best part was the reaction that they got when they heard my voice on the CD! They were so excited, happy, and eager to hear the stories! My students are 5 to 6 years old, and they very much enjoy having their own technology to use instead of having to go without it. They were all excited to see the headphones with microphones that they were going to use. They can now concentrate on the task at hand without being distracted by other noises or voices in the classroom.\r\n Some of the activities that the technology allows them to participate in include recording their voices counting numbers 1 through 20, counting backwards from 20 to 1, naming the letters of the alphabet, pronouncing the sounds that each letter makes, and counting to 100.\r\n The next project that they are excited about is reading a story to me. I will upload a story onto their I-Pads, and they will use the microphones to record themselves reading a story to me.
