Sometimes, we use snacks to simply get students through the school day. Other times, we use the snacks as rewards in learning games, engagement, tutoring peers, and other important incentives. The snacks are used on a daily basis, and they are effective in a variety of ways. \r\n\r\nOne unique way that the midday snack impact our troubled, at-risk youth is in building trust and respect. At first, I take orders and deliver the snacks to each snack. Slowly, and with purpose, we discuss the concepts of mutual trust and respect for our learning environment. In a short while, students are allowed the freedom to get their own snacks. They have to ask before taking, and says please and thank you. It seems pretty simple and straightforward, but it is a big step for some our students to engage in a rational, respectful relationship with a teacher (or any authority figure). \r\n\r\nTHANK YOU for contributing to our learning community. Your generosity is changing the education experience for students every day, and in meaningful ways.","fullyFundedDate":1755733399473,"projectUrl":"project/midday-snacks-for-a-title-ix-school/9409193/","projectTitle":"Midday Snacks for a Title IX school","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Loera","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8398847_orig.jpg?crop=2317,2317,x533,y32&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734718855934","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8398847"},{"teacherId":8398847,"projectId":9015222,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generosity to our learning community.
