This may be due to financial hardships in the home, the absence of the structure of school routines / contact with campus support staff, reduced daylight, or strained family dynamics. Whatever the cause, many individuals can feel extra overwhelmed during the period from Nov to Jan. \r\n\r\nGen Z tend to display an over reliance on electronic devices as a method of escape / coping with their stress. They often have little experience with outdoor play and collaborative / inventive games. Your generous donations have provided my students with an opportunity to test novel tools for whole body, moving meditation activities! While practicing their juggling skills and learning to Double Dutch, my students have been able to momentarily replace their worries with physically demanding play which focuses their attention to the here and now. Lol! Anyone who has ever Double Dutched knows that if your mind wanders, your feet quickly become tangled!\r\n\r\nWe are truly grateful for the gifts you've bestowed upon us. As one of my students said today, \"I was having a rotten day until the jump rope got me to laugh! I guess things aren't all that bad!\".\r\n\r\nWishing you all a happy holiday season.
