My students have moderate to severe disabilities, and providing them with meaningful ways to engage in physical activity and sensory regulation is essential for their daily success. With your support, we have transformed our classroom into a therapeutic environment where movement and mental health go hand in hand.\r\nWe are currently using the Macbook and the ONKRON mobile TV stand to bring guided yoga and stretching routines directly to our students, whether we are inside the classroom or enjoying the fresh air outside. A highlight was seeing our students use the UMEKEN ballet barre for stability while engaging in flat-back stretching; it provided the physical support they needed to feel confident and safe. When the materials first arrived, the excitement was palpableāthe bright colors of the hula hoops and poly cones immediately sparked curiosity. The students were especially drawn to the Sofa Sack bean bag and faux fur chairs, which have become their favorite \"safe spots\" to decompress after a vigorous adaptive PE session.\r\nLooking ahead, our next steps involve integrating the Theraband mini balls and Gaiam resistance bands into a daily core-strengthening circuit. These resources allow us to tailor exercises to each student's specific mobility level. We are also using the protein-rich snacks to teach our students about refueling their bodies after exercise, helping them understand the connection between nutrition and physical energy. Your contribution has not only provided equipment but has created a pathway for my students to improve their balance, focus, and overall well-being.","fullyFundedDate":1760215624110,"projectUrl":"project/modsevere-disabilities-class-needs-equi/9759684/","projectTitle":"Mod/Severe Disabilities Class Needs Equipment for Indoor and Outdoor Exercise","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bass","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4272826_orig.jpg?crop=1028,1028,x1249,y887&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1740284952316","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4272826"},{"teacherId":4272826,"projectId":9396933,"letterContent":"It is with utmost gratitude to you for supporting my special needs classroom. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to introduce new resources and opportunities that enriched their learning experiences and fostered a deeper love for education.\r\n\r\nFirst and foremost, the project provided students with access to materials and activities that they otherwise would not have experienced. Whether it was new books for our reading corner, art supplies for creative expression, or technology that supported interactive learning, these resources helped meet the diverse needs of each child. Students became more engaged and curious, eager to participate and explore new subjects.\r\n\r\nOne of the most significant outcomes was the boost in confidence and communication skills among my students. Through collaborative projects and interactive lessons, students learned to express their ideas, listen to others, and work together toward common goals. Many parents shared stories of their children coming home excited to talk about what they learned and the projects they were working on.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the project allowed us to bring parents and the community into the classroom. Family involvement increased as we hosted special events and showcased students' work. This strengthened the bond between home and school, reinforcing the message that learning is a shared journey.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your support made every child feel valued and seen. I witnessed growth not only in academic areas such as math and reading but also in creativity, self-confidence, and social skills. These are the foundations that will support them throughout their educational journey.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and for making such a meaningful difference in their lives. Larger gloves and aprons for our larger students (middle schoolers) will enable them to feel more comfortable doing the project alongside the 4th and 5th graders in the adjoining classroom. The last time they made the treats they were uncomfortable with small aprons and tiny gloves they wanted to remove. Jus this week one of our students was able to wear the larger disposable gloves to begin to learn to toilet on his own and he was able to do so without pain from the tight gloves. The new microwave is being used for our weekly cooking projects so far and is an appropriate one for our students as it has a locking function so that staff can monitor it for safety. The students have used the whisks as real-life models to generalize with cards with illustrations of kitchen items that two students are learning for their IEP goals. So far we have used the baby wipes to remove sticky and messy foods from cooking class on their desks. next week we will use the larger bone-shaped cookie cutters to make larger doggy treats (alongside the small molds).","fullyFundedDate":1740372946472,"projectUrl":"project/doggy-treat-making-cooking-project/9106117/","projectTitle":"Doggy Treat-Making Cooking Project","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bass","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4272826_orig.jpg?crop=1028,1028,x1249,y887&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1740284952316","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4272826"},{"teacherId":9875263,"projectId":9076649,"letterContent":"I have issue witht he promethean board so I have not really use it as I would like to.
