For my student, these resources increased comfort and independence: the visual schedule helped with transitions and reduced anxiety around unexpected changes, and the calming corner and sensory supports provided safe ways to regulate emotions so the student could participate more fully in group activities. The moment my student saw the sensory items and light up fish lamp, her eyes lit up! It was truly amazing to see the change in her behaviors and participation in activities with these additional resources. Her favorite item by far is the singing and mimicking cactus. This item is fun and encourages her to become more vocal and verbal, which is incredibly exciting!\r\nOver time the classroom climate has begun to shift, peer interactions became more inclusive, assessment data showed steadier engagement, and I learned to integrate these supports into lesson planning rather than treating them as add‑ons. The donations did more than supply materials; they changed my instructional choices, deepened my empathy, and helped my student experience school as a place of safety, competence, and belonging. Your thoughtful donations will help my students continue to grow and develop throughout the years.","fullyFundedDate":1762752581380,"projectUrl":"project/special-education-classroom/9864865/","projectTitle":"Special Education Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rivera","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10335857"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_10991","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":139,"numTeachers":16,"percentFrplEligible":49,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":41,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":53,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"8.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":10991,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sanderson Public School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sanderson Public School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/terrell-county-independent-school-district/sanderson-high-school/10991"}
