Especially as we enter fall and allergies/colds begin. This has been greatly helpful to keep my students healthy. I remember as a kid how it felt to go into a classroom that did not have these items accessible and how frustrating and helpless that felt for me, and I am thankful that my students do not experience that. I have found the lotion to be especially helpful as students need this with different skin conditions they may have, or if their skin just feels dry due to the colder weather in our state. Along with that, no matter what a student creates, they are successful, and that makes them feel confident in themself.\r\nOne of the reasons I wanted to bring these construction tools into my classroom is for my students to use during our current math unit on 3D shapes. We are using the magnatiles, sticks and magnets, and magnet stick set to physically build the 3D shapes. By building \r\nthe shape they better understand the difference between 2D and 3D shapes. They are using the sets to build structures that use multiple 3D shapes to create cars, houses, castles, and so many other structures. Once they create something they are so excited about, they like me to take a picture of it and send it to their family. \r\nLastly, in the world of technology, children have lost their imaginations. I see it every year, they simply do not know how to play and use their imaginations. When we have indoor recess, I do not allow my students to be on ipads or computers - I want them to PLAY! I have them get out building sets and just create on their own or with a friend. I love sitting at a table near them and just listen to their conversations and watch them use their creative mind.f It makes me smile when I see and hear them just being a kid and just playing. For that gift to me, I thank you so very much.","fullyFundedDate":1733288044611,"projectUrl":"project/building-good-vibes/8864456/","projectTitle":"Building Good Vibes!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kress-Stone","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9797083"},{"teacherId":5263811,"projectId":8878201,"letterContent":"I cannot express enough thanks for the generosity of the community in getting my project fulfilled. Headphones seem like such a small and insignificant item in a school day, but they make a huge impact for students who struggle with sensory needs. \r\n\r\nUpon receiving the headphones, I was able to divide them up between our programs. This ensured that some headphones were available to all of our center-base programs, who may not have had quick or easy access historically and insured access to a sensory tool for many additional students who struggle with noise or becoming overwhelmed. We also were able to add a number of headphones to our checkout system for all other students within the building. Many students have checked out a pair of headphones to use for the day or some students check them out for the remainder of the year.
