The kids love art and free time Friday, but at first when they saw this package arrive they weren't so sure what to think. The big box was very exciting, but the opening a little anticlimactic. However, once they saw all of the paper and materials that would be more easily accessible and available for them, there was MUCH more excitement. The first time using the organization paper station, I just let them use and create whatever they wanted. They had a lot of fun making everything from bendable paper fingers to paper airplanes and \"old school\" cootie catchers. Soon we'll use some of the colorful construction paper to send a few thank you notes to our donors. Thank you again! It's always the first place chosen when we're splitting up for team or group activities. It's a \"special treat\" to sit in our flex space chairs as well which are also from Donors Choose. The class and I are so lucky and thankful to be a part of such a generous community. At first sight they liked the colors and quickly decided the blue ones were the best. Then they started thinking of all of the ways and places they could use them. \r\n\r\nIt was actually really cute, the first day the chairs were used in the reading corner, on the rainbow rug, under a few desks (that was interesting- kids can be so silly), in rows, circles, groups. They literally thought of everything they could. There was also a bit of a competition to see how many different activities could be done sitting in the chairs. Some of their favorites were math centers, art, and Chromebook games. \r\nThank you so much for your generosity. Are walls are full of color from the different projects we have done and were able to print in color. Seeing color versus just black and white on our projects makes a difference. It has encouraged my students to really do the research and add pictures to their work.\r\n\r\nOne of our big projects was researching and writing a report about the California Missions. Seeing their reactions when I printed their work was priceless.
