The feelings puzzles have allowed all students to explore emotions, helping them better understand themselves and one another. The excitement in the room was contagious as everyone opened to the first page and got started drawing and writing.\r\n\r\nThese notebooks have quickly become an essential part of our daily routine. My students use them for journal writing, story prompts, and practicing letter formation. The wide lines and midlines have made it so much easier for them to write neatly and confidently. I've already seen improvement in both handwriting and sentence structure—and most importantly, in their pride as writers.\r\n\r\nThe organization that these notebooks provide has also made a big difference during recent report card conferences. Each student's writing is now all in one place, making it easy for families to see the significant progress their child has made since the start of the year. Families were so proud to flip through the pages and see how their children's writing and ideas have grown so far this school year.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible! In the pictures, you will see some of the tools we have created, which include communication boards, visual schedules, and picture cue cards that staff keep on their lanyards. These materials may seem small in appearance, but they empower young students who do not yet have a consistent or reliable means of communication. \r\n\r\nIf you're interested in learning more about the Autistic population and their use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), I encourage you to look it up!
