The sheer joy and curiosity that filled the room was infectious, and it was clear that this resource would change the way we approached learning.\r\n\r\nThis incredible machine has already made a profound impact. The students have worked with adults to add our school logo to their water bottle. Although it was the end of the school year and we were just getting started. Our classroom has grown into a space where my students not only are building their reading, writing, and math skills, but are also becoming confident and resilience in their emotional expression. These materials that were donated to our classroom have introduced powerful lessons that have helped my students navigate their emotions, develop empathy, and has assisted in building their character. \r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is more meaningful than textbooks and worksheets. I foster an environment that is full of meaningful discussions and encourages emotional growth. During read-alouds and group discussions, students share their thoughts and feelings about characters' experiences, making connections to their own emotions. We use these books to practice social-emotional skills such as identifying feelings, problem-solving, and understanding different perspectives. Students are encouraged to express their thoughts through writing, drawing, and role-playing, reinforcing the idea that books can be a powerful tool for self-reflection and emotional regulation.\r\n\r\nOne student who used to shy away from letting others understand his emotions has found confidence in discussing book characters' emotions and has found ways to relate them back to his own experiences. Another student has been drawn to the Little Spot books and uses the stuffed animals as a tool to recognize her own feelings.
