At times, it can be hard to really engage kiddos and make them excited to learn. With the alphabet tubs, kiddos got to help me put them together and organize the items. This helped them review their knowledge of beginning letter sounds in words. They were super excited to help me out with this task. As soon as they saw all the items on the back table their faces lit up! I also plan to use these tubs for years to come to help, especially at the beginning of the year to help kiddos learn letters and their sounds, which is a huge step in their goal of learning to read and write. We also used them to review long and short vowel sounds. For example, I held up an item from a vowel tub, and they had to decide whether it started with a long or short vowel sound. They were so excited to hold the items up after they answered. I can't wait to continue to use them for future hands-on activities. We also have been using the dry erase cubes to review addition and subtraction. We rolled one cube that had plus and minus signs on it, and the other two cubes had numbers written on them. We used the numbers to solve the addition and subtraction problems then and reviewed strategies to help us solve them! Kiddos love being able to have turns rolling the cubes and share their knowledge together this way! They were super excited and thought the cubes were so cool, since you can write on them! \r\n\r\nOverall, the impact these materials have had since I received them is significant. I can't say thank you enough, especially as a first year teacher with less supplies!","fullyFundedDate":1738246399266,"projectUrl":"project/literacy-manipulatives-to-engage-our-you/8861003/","projectTitle":"Literacy Manipulatives to Engage Our Youngest Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wagner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9795079_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1728153211951","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9795079"},{"teacherId":9790749,"projectId":8986629,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the donation of books for our 4K libraries. 4k students throughout our district can now experience what it is like to check out books and bring them home to enjoy with families. Families that don't know English can still read our books in multiple languages and others can learn new languages.
