Before, most of our materials were printed in black and white, and it was sometimes hard for my students to stay interested or understand what to do. Now, with colorful visuals, charts, and worksheets, lessons are more engaging and easier for them to follow. The bright colors help my students make connections and stay focused during activities.\r\n\r\nThe part they love most is seeing their own work printed in color. Whether it's their stories, drawings, or certificates, they get so proud to see their hard work come to life. It's such a simple thing, but it makes a big difference in how they feel about learning.\r\n\r\nOne of my students, who usually has trouble staying on task, now gets excited to finish his work so he can print and share it. The printer has brought more excitement, motivation, and confidence into our classroom. The social-emotional learning (SEL) tools—such as sensory materials, emotion charts, and interactive games—have given my students healthy and effective ways to express their feelings, regulate emotions, and build stronger peer relationships. I've seen students use the tools to calm themselves during stressful moments, which allows them to rejoin learning activities more quickly and successfully.\r\n\r\nThe snacks have also made a meaningful difference by providing comfort and consistency throughout the day. Having these small breaks helps students reset, transition smoothly between tasks, and focus on their learning without the distraction of hunger or sensory discomfort.\r\n\r\nOverall, these resources have helped my students grow not only academically, but also emotionally and socially. They are becoming more confident in identifying emotions, practicing kindness, and working cooperatively with their classmates. Most importantly, my students feel valued, supported, and empowered—qualities that are essential for lifelong success.","fullyFundedDate":1746785310684,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-the-heart-snacks-for-the-soul/9253065/","projectTitle":"Tools for the Heart, Snacks for the Soul: Supporting Special Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. TEODOSIO","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9879739"},{"teacherId":9749978,"projectId":9282669,"letterContent":"This project has helped us put together a classrooms that has impacted 18 special needs children. Our students returned to school this week and their parents were excited to tell us the kids couldn't wait to get back. The excitement the kids feel comes from you donating to our classroom and helping us provide everything we need right down to the smallest details that helps our classroom run smoothly. With this donation you provided a larger carpet for learning activities and group meetings. As well as charts to hang throughout the room to help them visually see what their next activity will be, where they are on the behavior chart, and what their classroom responsibilities are for the day. These are just a few things you helped provide and we could never express the full impact you have made on our children and ourselves as educators.
