I am a reading teacher in a smaller district and 70% of the children I work with are in third grade or lower. The decodable books have been used almost daily since I received them. The books come in different levels so I can use them with my youngest readers to those working on vowel teams and fluency. Each book focuses on specific phonics skills and as the phonics skills increase in complexity so do the words on each page, helping my students grow their confidence and stamina.\r\n The students and I have enjoyed getting to know the characters and all of their adventures. I especially like the length of the books. They are long enough to have a storyline, but short enough to fit in during my 30-minute interventions. The books contain a quick game at the end of each story to practice the phonics skills featured in the book. There are also comprehension questions that go along with each story that I ask after we are done reading it. Lastly, the pictures are fun for the students to look at too.
