Some of the students have even shared with their peers how using the candle to redirect their thought once calm has helped them tremendously. The plethora of social emotional learning materials, including the Little Spot books and plushies, games, fidgets, and calming down tools have been an amazing support to my students and teaching them about feelings, how to regulate their emotions in a healthy way, and engage in problem solving. These SEL supports have been instrumental in my students successes this year! The materials are fun, interactive, and span a wide range of ages and real life/hypothetical situations. \r\n\r\nDue to the nature of the materials, my students request to play the games, or read the books. They can make real life/world connections to their feelings and/or the problem solving scenarios, and the visual calm down tools have been excellent resource for when a student's emotions are elevated and they need a calming down tool!
