Food is always a popular hit and never goes to waste at our school. We have been able to keep our food pantry in our office stocked and share these resources with all of our students. There was a period of the school year where students were coming by every day asking for something to eat, but we had to send them away because we ran out of items and could not keep up with supply and demand. More people have been coming by lately to take advantage of the new resources we now have available!\r\n\r\nI was also able to save many of these snacks to hand out on a recent school field trip, so everyone had something to get them through the morning before lunchtime. The trip was a reward for students who regularly attend school, so the snacks only contributed to incentivizing our young scholars.","fullyFundedDate":1742823820984,"projectUrl":"project/keep-young-adults-fed-and-hydrated/9109491/","projectTitle":"Keep Young Adults Fed and Hydrated","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kim","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8225319_orig.jpg?crop=2034,2034,x6,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757944362550","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8225319"},{"teacherId":9742977,"projectId":8794995,"letterContent":"We are extremely grateful for your generous support in providing snacks for our high school students. Your kindness is more than just a donation—it is a lifeline that helps our students stay focused, motivated, and ready to learn. \r\n\r\nUnfortunately, many of our students face financial struggles, and hunger has created a significant barrier to their academic success. Thanks to your contributions, we have witnessed how something as simple as a nutritious snack can make a world of difference. We have seen firsthand an improvement in attendance rates and a greater sense of belonging among students. Additionally, students who typically struggle to concentrate in class now have the energy to engage in lessons, complete their assignments, and strive toward their academic goals. Thank you for making a positive impact in their lives. \r\n\r\nLet us share a few stories that illustrate the impact of your support: \r\n\r\nMeet Jordon, a senior who is working hard to graduate by completing three classes by February. Before he had access to school snacks, Jordon often struggled to stay focused during his afternoon classes, as he usually missed breakfast due to transportation issues. With your help, he can now come in, grab a snack, and initiate tasks more efficiently. As a result, he has met all his graduation requirements. \r\n\r\nRay is a senior and a young mother who is working to meet her graduation requirements. She often arrives late to class after dropping her son off at daycare. However, she has benefited from the snacks available, which give her the stamina she needs to complete her work and engage in classroom discussions. She is now excited about the progress she has made so far. \r\n\r\nA group of 12th graders who go directly to work after school used to rush home because they were hungry. Now, they can stay longer, build friendships, and develop stronger study habits, knowing they have the nourishment to continue. \r\n\r\nPlease note that your generosity has given our students the fuel they need to dream bigger, achieve more, and believe in their potential. Your contribution has made a lasting impact on their lives and aided in strengthening our community.","fullyFundedDate":1733539026253,"projectUrl":"project/fuel-for-learning/8794995/","projectTitle":"Fuel for Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dawson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9742977_orig.jpg?crop=895,895,x0,y35&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726069809475","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9742977"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_131654","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":44,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":54,"percentWhite":17,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":21,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":52.6,"schoolId":131654,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Garnet-Patterson S.T.A.Y.
