The use of these goggles enhances their eye protection and prevents potential eye injuries. Your support has made a meaningful difference in my students' learning experiences.\r\n\r\nUsing this new protective equipment allows the students to work on projects more confidently due to the goggles being clear and well fitted. The students are eager to wear their new googles for each project assigned, it's the first equipment they want to grab. Despite being past some of the holidays that our new books reflect, we are still voraciously reading them all! The students are sitting together and, more importantly, they are reading. \r\n\r\nIt is important to note that the reading being done is not the type where they have a book in one hand and pen in the other taking notes. They aren't hunting for text evidence or trying to discern how the structure of the text adds to the meaning of it. At least, they aren't doing these skill intentionally or overtly. Instead, the kids are reading for enjoyment. They are reading with each other just for fun. It's exactly how I had imagined it for them - reading a book together, laughing, pointing things out in the pictures, and hopefully making lasting memories.\r\n\r\nOur fifth graders may be wrapping up their elementary school days soon and moving on to middle school, but with your help, I hope that the time they spent with these books will be an indelible part of their lives. I did not tell them about my project until it was going to get fulfilled. And it did! After explaining to my students about my project, they were astonished by the generosity of the donors.\r\n\r\nWatching the first graders start the school year with no playground toys was heart breaking. Now, they are learning how to share. They're using their imaginations and getting very creative using the hula hoops and walking stilts.
