The last quarter of the school year can become very hard for parents, students, and teachers. The supplies aren't there, the funds are running low for both parents and teachers. By funding our project Mrs. Ripple you made it easy and stressless to closeout the school year. Your generosity made it possible for the students to continue to have access to a fully stocked Cabinet that Cares , which provide snacks for students when they arrive late and are hungry, and even provides weekend snack bags to ensure they have something to munch on during the weekend if food is scarce and not easy to access. Students who were running low on school supplies such as pencils, crayons, glue sticks etc. did not have to worry because through our project these items were purchased to replenish their school supply needs. My students love math, it's by far one of their favorite subjects. I have many mathematicians in this class. I also have a few buddies that struggle with the content, this is where those manipulatives play a huge part. The Manipulatives ,Centers, and Games give my students Hands-On experience and make math lessons more concrete and tangible.\r\n\r\nYour generosity, afforded us the opportunity to increase our math skills by implementing math centers and math games to our rotation on Center Friday for math. There has been an increase in the student's Math Assessment scores. The students have a few favorite centers and games such as Place Value Mystery House, the Place Value Dry Erase Chart, and the Visualize Whole to Part Cards. \r\n\r\nThe funding of this project has made a tremendous difference during my math lessons especially during the independent learning sessions, it gives students a chance to use the manipulatives and work through their problems independently with a little support tailored to their learning style. I am proud to say instead of them coming to me first when they get stuck on a math problem, they will ask if they are allowed to go get manipulatives to use to help them figure it out. I am so proud of them, Lori, Jason, Sarah, J. and Buffardi, Thank You so much for donating to my project and getting it fully funded. My students and I are most grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1733343778980,"projectUrl":"project/no-fear-mathematicians-to-the-rescue/8979711/","projectTitle":"No Fear, Mathematicians to the Rescue!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dawn Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5657032_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1651169895529","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5657032"},{"teacherId":5934280,"projectId":8852428,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation to our community service project. This year my class is intrigued by STEM, which is Awesome. We have completed many lessons, watched numerous you-tube video's pertaining to Stem, and have taken two field trips based around STEM. Unfortunately we were limited with Hands-On Centers for Stem. Which stifles me from extending many STEM lessons, and projects.\r\n\r\nDue to your generosity, I was able to receive multiple STEM Centers, Kits, and Hands-On activities for my students. We are now able to have STEM Friday, this means every Friday morning , my class will have a rotation of STEM stations and Centers based on the standard and content being taught that week.\r\n\r\nThe funding of this project has made a world of difference in my classroom, my students have been engulfed in the STEM Centers and Stations, they are so excited and truly engaged in STEM Friday ,that we runover into the time of the subject or activity. Many students have asked can we have two STEM days. When the students are given free choice of centers, I have noticed the majority of them grab the STEM Centers, especially the Bridge Builders. These STEM Centers have opened up many conversations about careers in STEM.
