My students were very excited about is having snacks in the room for when they really needed something to eat to concentrate in the classroom. They were even more excited to know that I had water in the classroom when they needed it. Especially since they found that we had ice so they could drink it cold. Some of the kids just like to chew on a couple of pieces of ice. You just don't know how something so small could mean the world to these children. Finally, I got a new student who has some issues. We started building a bond over the fact that she could come to me when she needed water. Huge help with behavior.\r\nSince we now have a microwave, I was able to make everyone popcorn as a reward for doing their best on the practice test, we took for our state accountability tests. Hopefully, it will make them try even harder when we take the real test.\r\nMy next project was posted for a couple of months. I have two areas in my room that would make great reading and math nooks. Unfortunately, I do not have what I need to fix these areas up and the project has ended. It includes a few rugs, books, and math practice.
