Previously, our members had to share a single outdated kit, which limited how many students could participate in hands-on building and programming. With two brand-new kits, students can now work in smaller collaborative teams, allowing everyone to design, code, and test their own robot.\r\n\r\nEach kit includes updated sensors, motors, and programmable controllers that align with the current competition standards. This means students are not only learning the basics of mechanical design and coding, but also developing the engineering and problem-solving skills needed to compete successfully at the regional level.\r\n\r\nThe new kits make it possible to:\r\n\r\nš” Run simultaneous projects so students can rotate through roles like programmer, builder, and driver.\r\n\r\nš§ Teach STEM concepts in real timeāfrom gear ratios and torque to autonomous programming using block- and text-based coding.\r\n\r\nš¤ Include more members, particularly new or younger students who can now work directly with functioning components instead of waiting to \"observe.\"\r\n\r\nāļø Expand after-school learning, as students can take one kit home or to outreach events for demonstrations at local schools and community STEM nights.\r\n\r\nOverall, these donations have elevated the Robotics Club from a single-team group to a dynamic, multi-team learning lab where creativity, collaboration, and innovation thrive. Students are more engaged, more confident in their technical skills, and more excited about pursuing careers in engineering, computer science, and technology.\r\n\r\nWe're deeply grateful to our donors for helping Rockland students gain access to the same hands-on STEM opportunities found in competitive, future-focused programs across the state. Their generosity didn't just supply equipmentāit helped build opportunity, curiosity, and community.","fullyFundedDate":1755456116027,"projectUrl":"project/rebooting-robotics-empowering-future-en/9610834/","projectTitle":"Rebooting Robotics: Empowering Future Engineers Without Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. C","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4741622_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1632386383631","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/shelleyc"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_62810","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":590,"numTeachers":47,"percentFrplEligible":77,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":67,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":20,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"12.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":87.5,"schoolId":62810,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Rockland High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Rockland High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/rockland-school-district/rockland-high-school/62810"}
