We decided to use the new materials to create personalized college-themed items for teachers, celebrating where they studied and the school spirit they bring to our campus. Students designed and cut detailed plaques, keychains, and desk decorations featuring college logos and mascots, turning digital sketches into polished, meaningful gifts.\r\n\r\nTheir reactions were full of pride and excitement. As the laser cutter carefully etched the basswood with college names and designs, students crowded around to see their creations come to life. Many commented on how fun it was to make something that would honor their teachers while also letting them practice real design and fabrication skills. The finished products quickly became treasured keepsakes, with teachers proudly displaying them in their classrooms.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to expand the project into more advanced design work, where students will incorporate layered pieces and 3D structures into their creations. Having these resources has not only allowed them to practice technical skills but also encouraged them to connect with our school community in a meaningful way. The basswood provided an opportunity to merge creativity, craftsmanship, and appreciation, and my students are eager to keep building on this momentum.","fullyFundedDate":1756080882234,"projectUrl":"project/cutting-edge-creativity-basswood-for-st/9642352/","projectTitle":"Cutting-Edge Creativity: Basswood for Student Laser Projects","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Garcia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2765840_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753109943983","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2765840"},{"teacherId":2765840,"projectId":9631013,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support in helping us bring college pennants into our classroom. My cluster consists of 10 schools. The variety of schools and student ages I have start from early childhood (3 years old), pre-k, elementary, middle school, high school, and all the way to our 18+ program (up to age 22 years old!). The interesting thing about my cluster is that there is a true divide in populations of socio economics. In some of my schools I am helping my families connect to agencies and in others I am helping families get clothes and food.\r\n You have helped me be able to have a traveling office with me so that I am able to meet all of these student's families at their child's school, their child's home, or even in the child's community. I help them connect to outside agencies so that they are able to get as much support from their community as possible. I always say the true statement that it truly does take a village to raise a child but it does take a whole community to take care of our special needs population. \r\n I find it a true blessing to be able to service these families, teachers, schools, communities, and students as much as possible and YOU helping me be able to do it with better access is beyond amazing. Thank you for thinking of helping us out and finding what I do truly worth it, because I find it totally worth all the time in the world!","fullyFundedDate":1724883034454,"projectUrl":"project/lets-get-to-transitional-work/8345616/","projectTitle":"Let's get to Transitional Work","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Erica L.
