They rushed over to try them out, some curling up with their favorite books, while others gathered in small groups to share stories together. The excitement in the room was contagious—several students said, \"This feels like a real reading lounge!\"\r\nWe are already using the new seating daily during our independent reading and small group activities. One special moment that stood out was when a group of reluctant readers chose to sit together on the bean bags, taking turns reading a chapter book aloud. The relaxed seating created a space where they felt comfortable and confident, and it turned into a fun, shared reading experience that likely wouldn't have happened before.\r\nAs we move forward, these seating options will continue to be used as part of our library lessons and projects. Right now, students are working on exploring different genres, and the bean bags and stools are helping create cozy nooks for reading \"genre passports.\" Each student reads from a new genre, records their reflections, and then stamps their passport. The flexible seating has made this project feel like a true reading adventure.\r\nThanks to your generosity, our library is not just a place to check out books—it's a space where students want to be, a space that invites them to read, learn, and grow together.","fullyFundedDate":1746785691546,"projectUrl":"project/color-comfort-creating-a-cozy-corner-fo/9201656/","projectTitle":"Color Comfort: Creating a Cozy Corner for Young Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Deaton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8159926_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1656610570723","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/deaton-a"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_12822","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":767,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":52,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":88,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"22.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.8,"schoolId":12822,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Robert E Lee Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Robert E Lee Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/alabama/satsuma-city-school-district/robert-e-lee-elementary-school/12822"}
