The story-line we developed, based on the number of occurances was - potholes. Students decided to investigate how temperature affects pot hole development. As you can image, they lot to say. This lively discussion led to one student modifying the question to be a bit more specific,. Bit by Bit they chiseled away until they came up a more focused description of the pothole problem. Next year, I have been led to believe that students exposed to this rationale and science phenomena plan to investigate it further.
