We have a reading corner in our classroom, complete with couch and pillows where the students can enjoy reading. The graphic novels have been a HUGE hit. They are hardly ever on the shelf and there are often students in line to get the next book in the series! One of my favorite memories of the year was when they discovered a series of books they hadn't read before. The first student that read one recommended it to his friend. That friend read it and it just rippled from there! It was fun to watch them excitedly pass it from one to another and hear the murmurings as they discussed the plot and characters from each novel. There were 9 books in the series and because of your generosity my students were fully immersed and excited about the opportunity to read them! Our school also does a quarterly incentive called the \"10 Book Challenge\". Students are encouraged to read books and fill out book reviews/ book logs so that they can reach the goal of reading 10 books. When they fill their book list, they get to attend a donut party and choose a book from our book vending machine to keep as their own! More than half of my students have met this goal at least once, sometimes multiple times this year! The accessibility to our classroom library is the reason they have been able to attain these goals as well! These are just two of the many ways your donations to help build our classroom library have greatly impacted my classroom! Thank you for making the love of reading possible and accessible for my students!!","fullyFundedDate":1755733100211,"projectUrl":"project/level-up-my-library/9571224/","projectTitle":"Level Up My Library!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Balliew","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4639253_orig.jpg?crop=272,272,x263,y189&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1728407047569","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4639253"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_122217","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":750,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":45,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":52,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":18,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":83.2,"schoolId":122217,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Riverwood Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Riverwood Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/mustang-public-schools/riverwood-elementary-school/122217"}
