Your gift may seem simple—shelves and organization bins—but it has changed our classroom in ways that mean so much to me as a teacher. \r\n\r\nThese bins transformed a storage area that used to feel overwhelming into a space of clarity and calm. What used to be an overcrowded, hard-to-manage space is now neat, accessible, and thoughtfully organized thanks to the new bins you helped provide. Every time I open the cabinet, I feel a sense of relief. Materials have a home. Lessons feel easier to prepare. More time can be devoted to other tasks because the clutter has been reduced. It has brought a sense of peace to a part of our room that I used to avoid, and that shift has touched our whole classroom.\r\n\r\nAnd while the transformation happened behind the scenes, the impact reaches all the students. Because our storage area is organized, I can pull what I need quickly, offer more choices, refresh centers more often, and bring out materials that used to be tucked away simply because I couldn't reach them. The room feels lighter, calmer, and more intentional—because I can stay focused on the children, not the mess. When the teacher is organized, the whole classroom feels it.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the large caddies you provided have been so much fun to use for creating travel-friendly centers such as the three bears STEM project. Having a bin that can hold play materials, plus full-sized clipboards and books makes a big difference for children being able to easily move the materials to a place where they feel most comfortable.\r\n\r\nYour kindness didn't just tidy a classroom. It gave us time, energy, and clarity. It made teaching feel a little easier and learning feel a little smoother. For that, I am deeply grateful.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our classroom and for making such a meaningful difference.","fullyFundedDate":1752459687807,"projectUrl":"project/turn-our-chaos-into-calm-organization-p/9204979/","projectTitle":"Turn Our Chaos Into Calm: Organization Project for K-2","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sullivan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7051282_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y36&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723414638386","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-sullivan-literacylab"},{"teacherId":5172130,"projectId":9663666,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your help in getting our classroom and materials organized. This has been a huge help, especially since I am working with my special needs students to keep their materials together and to advocate for themselves. The calculators, ear buds, and folders have made an impact on our learning overall but the best item has proven to be the canvas bags. Who knew that something as simple as a canvas bag with a clear covering would make such a significant impact. The kids got to pick their own colors and label them and it's made a world of difference.","fullyFundedDate":1757012590019,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-get-organized/9663666/","projectTitle":"Help Us Get Organized!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Z","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5172130_orig.jpg?crop=2618,2619,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756502253796","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5172130"},{"teacherId":7051282,"projectId":9420472,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom became a place where creativity, collaboration, and storytelling came to life—block by block!\r\n\r\nWith the magnetic blocks, Minecraft character figurines, and books you helped fund, my students were able to build imaginative worlds and bring their stories to life. This center quickly became a favorite spot in our classroom, where students designed homes, farms, and villages, then described what they built using new words and detailed sentences. In fact, these blocks are so well-loved that they remain in our construction center and are used every day, even after using them for 9 weeks. \r\n\r\nMy students loved talking about their creations—turning playtime into powerful language practice. Many of my students are emerging communicators who sometimes struggle to find ideas or motivation. The Minecraft theme gave them an instant connection to a world they already loved, and it helped even my most hesitant communicators feel confident and excited to share. Through this project, I saw growth not only in vocabulary, but also in teamwork, problem-solving, and creative thinking.\r\n\r\nA couple of highlights for me included:\r\n- watching children inspire each other to use the books as ideas for building. When some were able to connect what they saw to what they built, others noticed and followed suit.\r\n- seeing children challenge each other to build taller or more complicated structures. Hearing the language as children thought out loud about how to bring their vision to life was encouraging. \r\n\r\nYour support helped transform simple materials into endless possibilities for imagination and learning. Thank you again to all our donors—and especially to the Chesmar Foundation who triple-matched your donations—for helping my students \"mine\" their creativity, build confidence, and spread joy - one block at a time! 💚","fullyFundedDate":1752460929056,"projectUrl":"project/minecraft-ing-stories-block-by-block/9420472/","projectTitle":"Minecraft-ing Stories Block by Block","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sullivan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7051282_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y36&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723414638386","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-sullivan-literacylab"},{"teacherId":7051282,"projectId":9420403,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, one of our centers transformed into a mini Hawaiian paradise where imagination, storytelling, and sensory exploration came together beautifully!\r\n\r\nWith the Lilo & Stitch sensory materials you helped fund, my students were able to build and play in a center inspired by the movie's beachy world. Using kinetic sand and character figurines they created their own island scenes and stories. This hands-on play became the foundation for language-rich conversations and writing their own stories - both about our families and Lilo and Stitch.\r\n\r\nIt was incredible to watch students who are still developing their verbal and written language skills find their voice through this center. They described textures (\"it feels soft and squishy, like dirt\"), labeled parts of their scenes (\"palm trees, like in Mexico\"), and retold stories in their own words. The center also gave students opportunities to cooperate, share materials, and practice kindness — just like Lilo and Stitch.\r\n\r\nTwo highlights included: \r\n- Reading \"Ohana Means Family\" with students and making connections about family meals and how we are similar and different from the Hawaiian family in the story. One student even immediately recognized the taro plant in the story and explained it to the class.\r\n- Hearing from a few older students that their younger siblings came home talking about the Lilo and Stitch center, then saying they wished they could come play, too. I loved knowing that children shared their classroom joys with their families.\r\n\r\nOur classroom was filled with laughter, storytelling, and that special sense of togetherness that comes from both play and learning. Your generosity helped make that happen.\r\n\r\nThank you again to all our donors—and especially to the Chesmar Foundation who triple-matched everyone's donations—for helping my students discover the joy of learning, creating, and sharing their stories together. 💙\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of our hearts, mahalo!💙","fullyFundedDate":1752458602852,"projectUrl":"project/lilo-stitching-stories-together-thro/9420403/","projectTitle":"\"Lilo & Stitching\" Stories Together Through Sensory Play","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sullivan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7051282_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y36&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723414638386","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-sullivan-literacylab"},{"teacherId":5172130,"projectId":9064618,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your help with raising funds for this project. Already, my students have logged over 70 hours work in both reading and math. I have been able to watch their progress in these subjects, as they hit benchmarks and work on their goals. \r\nOne thing that I really am liking is that the students are motivated to continue practicing their skills at home. IXL offers a lot of games and self-paced activities in addition to the work I can assign. It's great to see self-motivated learning. Another thing that has been great is being able to interact with students in real time so I can adjust the work to their performance (sort of like a computer adaptive test).
