One of the skills that we focus on here is learning emotional regulation. The books that you have helped me purchase will contribute to that goal. I have purchased books that reflect our Zones of Regulation curriculum (blue - sad/down, red - angry/mad, yellow - frustrated/worried, and green - calm/happy). The I Feel...Meh book helps us learn about when we feel down in the Blue Zone. The Just Now I Feel Angry book helps us learn about our anger in the Red Zone. Lastly, the Ruby's Worry book teaches us about managing our nervous feelings when we are in the Yellow Zone. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, the books purchased help students learn skills like anxiety management (When Harley Has Anxiety book) and coping with ADHD (A Dragon with ADHD book). These books teach students about others who have similar struggles to their own and help them to feel less alone. They are also great resources for managing those difficulties. Furthermore, the I Like Myself! book serves to teach kids about positive self-esteem and recognizing strengths. This is a crucial component of healthy social-emotional development in youth.\r\n\r\nFinally, with your support, I was able to purchase some fun games to work with students on expressing their emotions. I am super excited to be using both the Emotional Rollercoaster, and the Slumberkins: Feelings Adventure, board games to be able to make learning about emotional regulation more fun. All of this and more has been made possible with your generous support! Thank you for prioritizing the mental health of our students. My students love to read, and now that they are getting better at independent reading and working with small groups, I have created book clubs for them based on their reading levels. Students read a chapter a day from the book and answer comprehension questions for that chapter in their writing journal. At the end of each week, we discuss what they have read. \r\n\r\nWe love reading the Junie B. Jones books! They are not only funny, but they teach the kids life skills such as how to get along with others, how to be a good friend, and many examples from Junie B. about what NOT to do. We have a great time laughing at her silly antics and discussing better ways to handle the different situations she gets into. This is not only helping our reading skills improve, it's also helping the kids develop better social/emotional skills. \r\n\r\nI want you to know that your donation is making a huge impact in my classroom and helping students find a great passion for reading.","fullyFundedDate":1742933686802,"projectUrl":"project/book-club/9177333/","projectTitle":"Book Club","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bryner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8573765_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y152&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720487823578","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8573765"},{"teacherId":3661851,"projectId":8893392,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students now have BouncyBands on their chairs, and the impact has been incredible!
