These books are mostly used in a read aloud setting and connected to a music lesson. We were thankful to get to read some of these new books before the end of our school year in the spring. \r\n\r\nOne of our favorite new books was \"The Oboe Goes Boom Boom\"! I used this book with my 5th graders when introducing instruments they could play in middle school band. Each student held a drum during the story because every time I read \"Boom Boom\", they could play their drum! It was a great addition to our lesson! \r\n\r\nRichlands Elementary music room will have these books for many years to come, and the students will get to enjoy them during their music class all thanks to you!","fullyFundedDate":1773859131035,"projectUrl":"project/books-for-our-music-room/10123913/","projectTitle":"Books for Our Music Room","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sparks","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8840084"},{"teacherId":8161807,"projectId":9336938,"letterContent":"Please accept my sincere appreciation for your donations to this project. While playing outside on the playground is a favorite part of the day for students, sometimes weather prohibits that from happening. By having board games, art supplies, and building sets in the classroom, students can continue to have recess while also learning to play collaboratively and creatively with peers. Interacting through play, students can build communication skills, problem solving strategies, and people skills. While playing strategically and respectfully, students are preparing for real world experiences that will be a necessary part of society into adulthood. It is my belief that social skills and academic skills go hand in hand.Thank you again for your kindness and your investment in our future.","fullyFundedDate":1757258724149,"projectUrl":"project/theres-no-crying-during-rainy-recess/9336938/","projectTitle":"There's No Crying During Rainy Recess!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Herndon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8161807_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1684802242219","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8161807"},{"teacherId":8161807,"projectId":9240360,"letterContent":"Please accept my sincerest appreciation for your donation to my classroom project, \"Class Up That Classroom!\" The students were so excited to see boxes arriving and could not wait for me to open them up so they could see what was inside. \r\n\r\nSince receiving the materials, we have created math number sense art called Math About Me, and we have created base ten block creations to practice number values. It is always exciting when skills can be taught and subsequently learned without the typical worksheet. These learning activities also translate to beautiful artwork to line our classroom walls and hallway displays for other students and staff to enjoy as well.\r\n\r\nThe students are displaying such pride in their learning and artwork. We are looking forward to many more similar projects throughout the school year. Our next big project using these new supplies will be to create animal habitats in science class.
