These resources have given our students the opportunity to take care of themselves, de-stress, and engage in positive experiences that promote their well-being.\r\n\r\nBeyond the immediate benefits, your kindness has also inspired our students to pay it forward. With your support, they have been able to participate in random acts of kindness throughout the semester, fostering a culture of gratitude and compassion. It is truly heartwarming to see how your generosity has encouraged them to spread positivity and uplift one another.\r\n\r\nWe deeply appreciate your commitment to our students and their well-being. I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for your generous support. Thanks to your contribution, we were able to create a welcoming and engaging space for new students through our lunchtime activities.\r\n\r\nTwice a month, students gathered to enjoy snacks, play games, and participate in activities designed to help them connect with their peers. It was heartwarming to see their smiles as they walked in, some initially shy but quickly opening up as they found common ground with others. The games and fidget toys helped ease the transition for many, and the shared experiences over snacks sparked new friendships.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was seeing a group of students who had just met bond over a game, laughing and supporting each other as if they had known one another for years. For many, these lunches provided not just fun but a sense of belonging in a new environment.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, I hope to continue these gatherings at least once a month, incorporating more activities like coloring, additional games, and, of course, delicious snacks. Your generosity has made such a difference, and I can't thank you enough for helping create a space where new students feel seen, supported, and welcomed.","fullyFundedDate":1729898098784,"projectUrl":"project/new-student-lunch-club/8556578/","projectTitle":"New Student Lunch Club","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Phillips","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8266660_orig.jpg?crop=1987,1987,x123,y564&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1642279991391","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8266660"},{"teacherId":9792534,"projectId":8857353,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting my project. Through your generous donations I was able to support several initiatives at our school. \r\n\r\nMost of the items that were purchased were used in support of our Mental Health Awareness week activities. As the mental high crisis with teenagers rages on, it is more important than ever to equip our students with the knowledge and skills they need to stay mentally healthy and to help their classmates and friends to do the same. During our Mental Health awareness week we were able to create several opportunities for students to come together to talk about the needs they are facing. One particularly meaningful opportunity was a forum that I was able to lead with our school social worker on the signs and symptoms of depression and anxiety. This forum allowed students the opportunity to discuss their own needs and the needs they see around them. The items I was able to purchase through your generous donations served to support this forum in two ways. \r\n\r\nFirst, I was able to purchase snacks to help create a friendly and low-key environment. Anyone who has worked with teenagers knows that snacks are key to getting their attention :-) Setting a natural and comfortable environment helped the students to feel at ease in discussing difficulty topics.\r\n\r\nSecond, with your funds we were able to purchase a number of uplifting and encouraging water bottle stickers. Students were able to pick these up at the end of the forum. These stickers server as a daily reminder to the students of the importance of good mental health and well-being. They also serve as a unifying force in our school as we see them around the building. \r\n\r\nIn addition to these experiences, we used the two water bottles we were able to purchase as part of our attendance and improved student programs. These were raffled off to students who had been nominated by staff to receive awards for improved attendance and academic achievement.\r\nThank you to everyone who supported this Donors choose project. All of your efforts have helped to support the academic efforts of our school and our students.","fullyFundedDate":1728918762295,"projectUrl":"project/embracing-excellence-by-engaging-attenda/8857353/","projectTitle":"Embracing Excellence by Engaging Attendance","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McKelvey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9792534"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_64784","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2366,"numTeachers":138,"percentFrplEligible":40,"percentAsian":23,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":27,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":26,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"17.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":64.8,"schoolId":64784,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Richard Montgomery High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Richard Montgomery High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maryland/montgomery-county-public-schools/richard-montgomery-high-school/64784"}
