Your donation helped fund such tools as gum, putty, and weighted lap blankets/stuffed animals for our classroom. These weighted items are cute and inviting and very cuddly. EVERYONE wants a turn with them, because they are soft and soothing and provide the sensory input that allows even my most vulnerable learners to better stay on task and work alongside their peers. The light compression provides a calming effect that benefits every learner, and I love having enough of them (3 total were funded) so that everyone can have a turn. Best of all, they are completely machine washable so I can use them for years to come. All of these sensory tools help foster independence and allow my students to be more in control of their bodies, and ultimately more successful navigating their school day. The confidence they gain from mastering these skills is invaluable, and it's heartwarming to see their excitement as they progress.\r\n\r\nThe UNO games have also been an amazing addition, turning learning into play! As we engage in these fun activities, my students are developing their number sense in a relaxed and enjoyable way. Meanwhile, the organizational bins are helping us keep our classroom neat and resources accessible to everyone. The students now know exactly where to find the tools they need, creating an environment of independence and shared responsibility.
