Because of your help, my students have been able to experience a story that has captured their hearts and imaginations. Many of my students had seen the movie, but had not read the book or made real-world connections. \r\n\r\nThe Wild Robot has had an impact on my students. Many of them quickly connected with Roz and her journey, which led to great discussions about kindness, empathy, perseverance, and what it means to belong. Students who were once reluctant readers became eager to read, share their favorite moments, and ask meaningful questions about the characters and themes. The book sparked curiosity, helped with reading comprehension, and encouraged students to think deeply about the world around them.\r\n\r\nThis has made a lasting difference in my classroom. Your support has not only provided books, but also created opportunities for students to grow as readers, thinkers, and compassionate individuals.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and investing in their learning. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and the positive impact it has made on our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1758225580033,"projectUrl":"project/the-wild-robot-go-wild-with-books/9366534/","projectTitle":"The Wild Robot - Go Wild with Books!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Baldwin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6347686_orig.jpg?crop=2368,2368,x161,y967&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747665454806","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6347686"},{"teacherId":10200269,"projectId":9632219,"letterContent":"Our classroom has been so, so grateful for your generous donations. We have been able to purchase many things such as a laminator, anchor chart paper, and incentive items just to name a few! These items have truly made an impact in our room. \r\n\r\nWhen our laminator, anchor chart paper, and incentive items arrived, they instantly became tools that supported our students' individual learning goals. We've been using the laminator to create durable visual schedules, behavior, and learning supports that students handle daily. Because these tools are now laminated, students can use them over and over without them tearing or wearing out—this has made routines much smoother and tools durable and reusable, helping students feel more confident and independent throughout the day. Our first project was providing students with binders of resources to encourage independence during work time. \r\n\r\nThe anchor chart paper has given us space to break down skills step-by-step, which is essential for our learners. We create anchor charts for decoding math routines, helping students learn to organize and identify their problems and how to solve them. This has also become a reusable resource that has helped encourage independence. \r\n\r\nThe incentive items have also been a powerful reinforcement system for positive behaviors and perseverance during challenging tasks. Our classroom system allows students to gain points for positive behavior, and \"cash out\" at the end of the day, if they choose. These incentive items have provided new and engaging ways to encourage the students to have healthy coping mechanisms and social/emotional habits. \r\n\r\nGoing forward, students will continue using these laminated supports during independent work and small-group instruction. We're already planning to create more communication visuals and learning tools that can be customized for each child. Thank you so much for helping make our classroom more accessible and supportive. Your generosity is truly helping our learners build confidence, independence, and a love for school every single day. You are truly helping make a difference, and it is greatly appreciated!","fullyFundedDate":1757006556614,"projectUrl":"project/our-classroom/9632219/","projectTitle":"Our Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jewula","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10200269"},{"teacherId":3079220,"projectId":9302271,"letterContent":"When the KEVA blocks arrived, my students could hardly contain their excitement. They immediately wanted to dive in and start building, and within minutes our classroom was filled with towers, bridges, and creative structures. The simple design of the blocks has sparked complex thinking—students are learning how balance, stability, and design choices impact their builds, all while collaborating and problem-solving with each other.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite classroom moments so far was during a STEM challenge where students had to build the tallest free-standing tower possible. At first, many towers fell quickly, but instead of giving up, students worked together to figure out how to improve their designs. The cheers that erupted when one group's tower finally stood taller than everyone else's showed just how meaningful these hands-on moments are for them. The KEVA blocks have truly transformed our classroom into a space of exploration and perseverance.\r\n\r\nThe next step for my students is to connect these building experiences to larger engineering concepts, like load-bearing design and prototyping. They are beginning to see how the skills they practice with KEVA blocks testing, redesigning, and thinking creatively and apply directly to real-world engineering challenges. Thanks to your generosity, my students feel empowered to take risks, embrace mistakes, and celebrate growth.","fullyFundedDate":1746635903630,"projectUrl":"project/stack-it-build-it-solve-it/9302271/","projectTitle":"Stack It, Build It, Solve It!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Shumaker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3079220_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1475515260417","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3079220"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_76901","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1211,"numTeachers":72,"percentFrplEligible":39,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":83,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"16.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":76901,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Republic Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Republic Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/republic-school-district-r3/republic-middle-school/76901"}
