Your support enabled us to create 90 beautiful, handcrafted bowls, each a testament to our students' dedication. These bowls, purchased by event attendees, resulted in a remarkable $1,200 donation to our local food bank.\r\n\r\nThis sum will provide crucial support to individuals and families facing food insecurity, offering meals, essential supplies, and hope. Your generosity has a profound impact on those we serve.\r\n\r\nBeyond fundraising, the project provided invaluable education for our students. They engaged in meaningful discussions about food insecurity, learning about its systemic causes, the resilience of those affected, and the power of collective action.\r\n\r\nThe hands-on process of crafting the bowls fostered practical skills and personal growth. Students learned pottery techniques, developed patience, and gained a sense of accomplishment. More importantly, they understood their role as active community members.\r\n\r\nYour donations extended beyond materials; they empowered students, strengthened our community, and supported those facing food insecurity. Your generosity has sown seeds of compassion and awareness.\r\n\r\nThe 90 bowls represent 90 opportunities to bring food and hope. Each bowl symbolizes the individual lives touched by your kindness. The $1,200 allows our food bank to continue its vital work.\r\n\r\nWe are incredibly grateful for your partnership. Your belief in our students and mission has made a lasting impact, reminding us that together, we can create a more compassionate world. The students have enjoyed using the markers. We have used markers to create plot diagrams of stories on posters, which we then coded robots to retell the story using the plot diagrams. Additionally, we have used the markers in science and math to help deepen our learning. We can't wait to use the water colors on another project later this year.\r\n\r\nThe class has absolutely loved the new seating options. The comfy cushions were a huge hit, and they continue to allow for flexible seating options around the room. At present, our crew loves to spread out across the room during independent work time. This was available before, but the cushions invite that extra degree of comfort and enable options for students to choose a preferred learning space where their learning can take flight. This is supported by the whiteboard clipboards. These act as a hard writing surface for independent work time and the flexibility as a learning tool during lessons. Many of the supplies that were funded by this project included everyday learning materials such as highlighters, white board markers, erasers, post it notes, and glue sticks. These were incredibly helpful, as ours were in limited supply. It was delightful to see students' faces light up when they got to pick out a mechanical pencil. Who knew that it could bring so much joy! Now our classroom is free from the disruption of constant pencil sharpening, and students are ready to write with their new pencils. Fun, motivating, and practical! I just wanted to share some of these details to show that your generosity went a long way. \r\n\r\nAgain, I truly appreciate your donation and the positive impacts for my third grade learners!","fullyFundedDate":1731988768116,"projectUrl":"project/busy-third-grade-classroom/8941032/","projectTitle":"Busy Third Grade Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lauren","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp733130_orig.jpg?crop=2730,2730,x0,y182&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1695700001018","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/733130"},{"teacherId":9637890,"projectId":8598519,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for providing my students with new Pogo Sticks, Pickle Ball, and Archery equipment. I thrive on encouraging students to be the leaders of their own learning and that can only be accomplished if there is a plethora of equipment from which to choose. This new equipment gives my students just that opportunity. Pickle Ball and Archery are lifetime activities and the skills they gain in my gym will serve them for the rest of their lives. Moreover, pogo sticks can only be bounced on so many times before the spring gives out, and therefore must continually be replaced. \r\nAdditionally, I love to provide different options when teaching physical skills. For example, I have a variety of styles of bows to choose from when we work on our archery skills in the gym. I have modern compound style bows as well as a few long and recurve bows. My selection of the traditional style bows has been limited, but always proves to be popular and students have had to share. Adding two more recurve bows to the assortment of bows will be very beneficial to my students. Furthermore, if students want to compete in olympic style archery competitions, recurve bows are the required standard. \r\nFinally, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and joy with your willingness to support my studnets on their journey to becoming lifetime learning and movers. As we know the older we get finding the time and energy to move our bodies gets more difficult. If you have not found a physical activity that you enjoy the likelihood of participating is even lower. Thanks again for stepping up to support my students to find the activity that will ignite a lifetime of passion for movement and physical fitness.","fullyFundedDate":1730404254803,"projectUrl":"project/physical-education-equipment/8598519/","projectTitle":"Physical Education Equipment","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Doug","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9637890"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_62474","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":361,"numTeachers":21,"percentFrplEligible":6,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":82,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"17.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":75.9,"schoolId":62474,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Renaissance Elementary Magnet School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Renaissance Elementary Magnet School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/douglas-county-school-district-re-1/renaissance-expeditionary-lrng/62474"}
