Your generosity brought a wave of excitement and artistic pride to my students that exceeded all expectations. I work with students from 4th grade to 8th and occasionally with a small group even younger. This project was a hit for students of all ages. \r\n\r\nWith the shrink plastic and supplies you helped provide, my students were able to transform their artwork into personalized keychains. These are tiny, tangible keepsakes that they were able to carry with them. The process of creating these was not only fun and engaging, but it gave my students a sense of ownership and pride in their creativity. Watching their drawings, shrink and harden into durable charms was like magic for them. Their reactions were priceless. They quickly became obsessed and couldn't wait to see their art shrink again and again.\r\n\r\nWhat surprised me the most was how this project sparked a trend throughout the school. Students began attaching their keychains to their backpack proudly showing off their creations to their friends and classmates. It became a form of artistic expression and connection. Students were trading their stories about their designs, complementing each other's work, and even inspiring those outside of my classroom to visit and ask if they could make one too. \r\n\r\nThis project didn't just enhance our curriculum, it created a ripple effect of creativity, confidence, and community. It gave students away to celebrate their individuality and share their talents with others in a visible and meaningful way. Thank you so much for making this possible! Your support has truly made a lasting impact on our classroom and beyond. Again I thank you from the bottom of my heart. My students loved this so much!","fullyFundedDate":1755737056668,"projectUrl":"project/spark-creativity-turn-their-art-into/9570673/","projectTitle":"Spark Creativity!! They designed and built their own model cities—an experience that brought learning to life in the most exciting way. Using the new materials, students explored how geometric nets work and how they translate into three-dimensional shapes. They calculated volume, planned layouts, and constructed buildings with precision and pride.\r\n\r\nThe excitement in the room was palpable when the materials first arrived. Students were thrilled to use real tools and supplies—many for the first time. One student exclaimed, \"It feels like we're real architects and city leaders!\" That sense of empowerment and engagement was truly special.\r\n\r\nAs the project progressed, students drew inspiration from their own communities. They researched local landmarks, studied city maps, and even interviewed family members about how their town operates. They then applied this knowledge to their own cities, incorporating realistic features like parks, libraries, and public transportation systems.\r\n\r\nBut the learning didn't stop at math and design. Students also explored how local governments function. They formed city councils, created legislation, and debated rules for their towns. Through this, they gained a deeper understanding of civic responsibility and the role of leadership in shaping communities.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, students will continue to build on this foundation by presenting their cities to peers and families, explaining the math behind their structures and the reasoning behind their civic decisions. It's been a powerful journey of discovery, and it wouldn't have been possible without your support.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the tools to dream, build, and lead.","fullyFundedDate":1735439778428,"projectUrl":"project/geometricity-4th-and-5th-grade-edition/9021331/","projectTitle":"Geometricity (4th and 5th Grade Edition)","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hamilton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9561198_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1717273088126","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9561198"},{"teacherId":3642802,"projectId":8965718,"letterContent":"Thank you for donating to \"Positive Reinforcement\". The passports were a massive hit, making the students feel like they were truly traveling to different countries. They eagerly used the scrap paper to solve questions and play games, fully immersing themselves in the activities. The excitement was palpable when they saw the room transformed into a winter wonderland and an International Customs Department, complete with maps and flags from various countries. This visual transformation captivated their imaginations and set the stage for an engaging learning environment.\r\n\r\nStudents were thrilled by the games and the festive atmosphere, which made learning fun and interactive. The maps and flags hung outside the classroom allowed them to see and learn about different countries' flags, fostering a sense of global awareness and respect for diverse cultures and holidays. They explored holidays such as Kwanzaa, Saint Lucia, Chinese New Year, Hanukkah, Los Posadas, and more, gaining a deeper understanding of these celebrations. Leading up to the project, students from all grade levels were buzzing with curiosity, trying to guess the project's theme and the various parameters involved. This anticipation added to their excitement and engagement, making the learning experience both educational and enjoyable.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the donations of flags and bulletin board borders will be recycled and used again next year, adding longevity to this project and highlighting the generosity of the contributions. This sustainability aspect ensures that future students will also benefit from the enriched learning environment, continuing the tradition of celebrating global cultures and holidays while reinforcing important academic standards.","fullyFundedDate":1718730535071,"projectUrl":"project/holidays-around-the-world-math-review-/8435353/","projectTitle":"Holidays Around the World: Math Review (4th and 5th Grade)","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hamilton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9561198_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1717273088126","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9561198"},{"teacherId":1214452,"projectId":7492008,"letterContent":"It has been a successful year in the classroom. With technology taking over so much of students learning, teachers need to use products that help students in the best way when using iPads or computers. My students were expected to complete online programs that help them with reading and with improving their math skills. Students also are testing multiple times throughout the year and this is also done on their iPads. \r\n It's very difficult when you have students on different levels level of reading abilities use their iPads. The online app students use do you have the accommodations of reading to students. When you have a classroom of 28 students, that could be upwards of 15 iPads reading out loud. I am so grateful for the headphones that were donated to our class. This enables any student to listen to their iPads without disrupting, classmates, or being distracted by other iPads. I created an area where I could hang the headphones so they were easily accessible to the students when they needed a pair of them. They were able to retrieve them on their own and return them when they finished. Thanks to those who donated, all of my students had a very successful year, increased their reading ability and most met their reading and math goal or beat thier goals for promotion onto the next grade level.","fullyFundedDate":1699549246937,"projectUrl":"project/hear-ye-hear-ye/7492008/","projectTitle":"Hear Ye!
