My students were absolutely thrilled to see the new supplies! The color-changing owl has quickly become a favorite. Many of my students love squeezing it to relax, using it as a comforting fidget. The soothing sounds it makes have also created a calming environment for those who may become overstimulated.\r\n\r\nIn our therapy sessions, games like Scattergories and Chat Chains have made a huge difference. Rather than relying solely on worksheets or traditional lessons, my students are now more engaged and excited to participate. The materials have turned learning into something they genuinely look forward to. And, of course, the snacks (not pictured because they disappeared so quickly!) were an absolute hit. While they served as an effective reward system, they also held a deeper significance. For some students who may not have consistent access to snacks at home or who avoided the cafeteria due to social anxiety, a simple snack during our session was a source of comfort and joy.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the practical supplies like Sharpie markers and white-out tape have been incredibly helpful, making my day-to-day tasks much easier. The Reading Comprehension Workbook has also been invaluable. It's packed with versatile activities that target language comprehension, vocabulary development, and sentence structure, saving me precious prep time.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my students are learning and growing in an environment that is calming, inclusive, and fun. I plan to continue expanding my resource library to ensure my office remains a space where all students feel supported and encouraged. These resources will not only enhance their education but also provide a comforting space where they can find inspiration, expression, and calm in their day-to-day lives.\r\n\r\nSeeing their excitement as they explore the new materials has been heartwarming, and it's all because of donors like you who believe in the power of education. I work in a Title 1 school, meaning the majority of students are from low income backgrounds. This project enabled me to provide a more calming space that better supports their mental health. The lights and light covers provide a more relaxing mood. Students happily fidget with their new fidgets and regularly use the calm strips that, because of this project, are attached to each desk. We have flexible seating options with the floor cushions that students utilize during sustained silent reading. When we have some additional time, students grab and play a quick round of Uno, bonding over shared fun. In the past, I would have had to send students to another location. Now, I have the option of using the calming corner within my classroom first.\r\n\r\nOverall, the reading/calming corner has been a wonderful addition to our classroom! One specific project where these materials have made a significant impact is our strength and conditioning unit. With the addition of new equipment, students have been able to explore different weightlifting techniques and build personalized fitness plans. A standout moment was when a group of students who previously struggled with motivation found a renewed sense of excitement as they tracked their progress using the new resources. Their engagement and willingness to push themselves have been truly inspiring.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their reactions were filled with excitement and curiosity. Many of them were eager to test out the new equipment and explore how it could enhance their workouts. Some students who were initially hesitant about participating in PE expressed newfound interest after seeing the upgraded resources. Their enthusiasm was evident as they immediately started asking questions and brainstorming ways to incorporate the materials into their fitness routines. It was amazing to witness how the right tools could completely shift their perspective on physical activity.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, my students will continue using these resources to refine their fitness plans and work toward their individual health goals. We are currently focusing on improving strength, endurance, and overall athletic performance, and the new equipment will allow for more diverse and engaging workouts. As we progress, students will also be encouraged to set long-term fitness goals and reflect on their growth.
