Your contributions have made a meaningful impact, providing my students with resources that allow them to express themselves and find new ways to stay engaged in learning.\r\n\r\nSince receiving these materials, my students have been using art as a way to regulate their emotions and express their creativity. When they first saw the supplies, their excitement was undeniable! Many immediately began using them as a calming tool during independent work, finding joy in drawing and creating. Art has become a powerful outlet for them, helping to foster a positive and focused classroom environment.\r\n\r\nWhile we have not yet integrated the art supplies into our science lessons, we are planning to do so in the future. I'm excited for my students to use art as a way to visualize and connect with scientific concepts, making learning even more interactive and meaningful.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible! Your support has provided not only materials but also a sense of creativity, self-expression, and emotional well-being in my students' learning journey. One of our favorite projects involved designing geometric patterns and then painting them using the new supplies. It was amazing to watch students who normally feel intimidated by math suddenly light up when they realized they could see and create the concepts with their own hands.\r\nOur next step is expanding this math and art connection into a small gallery walk. Students will create a second piece demonstrating a different math skill, then write short reflections explaining the concepts behind their artwork. We'll display everything in the classroom so they can celebrate the learning they've done in a way that feels creative, hands-on, and meaningful.","fullyFundedDate":1680787965495,"projectUrl":"project/seeing-math-in-2023/7214474/","projectTitle":"Seeing Math in 2023","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Yorba","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5210081_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764785036882","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5210081"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_55373","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2278,"numTeachers":87,"percentFrplEligible":16,"percentAsian":24,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":40,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":19,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"26.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":86.7,"schoolId":55373,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Rancho Bernardo High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Rancho Bernardo High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/poway-unified-school-district/rancho-bernardo-high-school/55373"}
