Each week, my students look forward to the fresh magazines arriving in our classroom. These magazines have given us countless opportunities for meaningful discussions, critical thinking, and connections to the real world that go beyond our curriculum.\r\n\r\nAlready, I've seen students' reading comprehension and science curiosity grow. They've learned to ask thoughtful questions, debate ideas respectfully, and apply what they're reading to their own lives. They have also benefitted from the laminator that was donated, so I can create engaging tools for them to work with. And I can reuse them for other students. Score!\r\n\r\nI've especially enjoyed teaching students coping and relaxation skills in the moment of dysregulation.
