My students were so excited to see that almost every student would get to use a glove and ball during warm ups! Only 4 out of 29 had ever put on a glove or even played the game! \r\n\r\nWatching some of them put the gloves on the wrong hand or seeing some of them try to throw the balls from the glove made this all the reason why we needed this equipment! \r\n\r\nSince receiving the items, my students have been learning how to catch, field and throw the ball. We have also started playing softball games. They can't wait for PE! They are learning how to hit, where to make the play, team work, and they are cheering each other on as they hit the ball or field it to make an out. They see their own improvement daily and their confidence has greatly improved as well! \r\n\r\nIt is safe to say that more than 4 will continue to play this sport as they get older! They even have started working on their skills outside of PE! Without your support, all of this would not be possible! You've made 29 students and this teacher very happy! Your generosity means the world to my students and me.\r\n\r\nI teach a wonderful group of 4th-graders who are energetic, kind, and always excited to learn and play. Because of your support, we will be able to provide more P.E. equipment for our students to enjoy. Having enough equipment for multiple games at one time will allow more students to stay active, engaged, and included during our activities. My students especially love kickball, basketball, four square, and field games, and they are always eager to try new activities like Frisbee and badminton as well.\r\n\r\nOur previous sporting equipment had become old and worn out, so your donation is helping us replenish and update supplies that will benefit students every day. The students will have more opportunities to build teamwork, confidence, and healthy habits while having fun together.\r\n\r\nThe iPads will also make a huge impact in our classroom. They will serve as a meaningful incentive and reward system for students who work hard and complete assignments. Having this positive motivation encourages responsibility, perseverance, and excitement about learning.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our students and investing in their success. Students are fully engaged as they participate in games while also taking on important roles such as team leaders. One powerful moment came when students began tracking team performance and calculating statistics on their own. They applied math skills like averaging scores, managing time, and analyzing results, all within a real and exciting context. What started as a tournament quickly became a hands-on learning experience that brought academic concepts to life.\r\n\r\nWhen the training began, students were immediately energized. Many of them had never participated in a structured, school-based athletic experience before, and they felt a strong sense of excitement and belonging. They took pride in representing their teams and showed growth in confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Students who are typically less engaged in traditional lessons became leaders and active participants, which has carried over into the classroom.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, students will build on this experience by reflecting on their performance and analyzing the data they collected during the tournament. They will create reports, discuss strategies, and connect their experiences to math and social-emotional learning. I also plan to have students design their own tournaments, allowing them to apply leadership, organization, and academic skills in new ways. This project has shown students that learning can be dynamic, relevant, and deeply connected to real-life experiences.","fullyFundedDate":1769569170520,"projectUrl":"project/stay-active-stay-healthy/10058655/","projectTitle":"Stay Active, Stay Healthy","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. de Alba","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5578502_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1673300360772","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5578502"},{"teacherId":8705201,"projectId":10067873,"letterContent":"Thank you for funding our classroom project. I explained that there are so many kind people willing to help students get what they need to make learning fun! \r\n\r\nSo far, my students have been able to grab one and move to a quiet space in the classroom to read a book or work on a class assignment with a partner. They have partnered up to read books on them, and some just sit and listen to a classmate read a book that may be too hard for them to read. I am extremely happy to receive these seats. We now have enough for half of the class to use them at one time. We have rotated using them and everyone is excited to get a chance to relax on a comfy seat to do some reading or class work.
