Because of your generosity, my students end each day with nourishment before long bus rides home or hours in after-school care. What may seem like a small act provides comfort, security, and relief from a very real burden many children carry.\r\n\r\nYet your kindness has done more than meet a basic need—it has created joy, connection, and belonging.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, students were rewarded with classroom dollars. They were able to use these dollars to buy themselves snacks every day. This lesson on money quickly became a lesson on gratitude and appreciation. We appreciate you for investing in our classroom!\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your generosity has sent my students a powerful message—that people they may never meet believe in them, care about them, and want them to thrive. For children growing up with uncertainty, that message matters deeply. It nurtures hope.\r\n\r\nEach day before we eat, our classroom cheers a joyful \"Thank you!\" to our donors. We want you to know your support has done far more than provide snacks. Because of you, my students end each day with full bellies before heading onto long bus rides or after-school care. That small moment of nourishment eases a very real burden and softens the worry that can come with food insecurity.\r\n\r\nBut your kindness has done more than provide food. It has created joy. Students look forward to snack time each day. It's a moment to pause, to smile, and to simply be kids. It has also given us something unexpected and meaningful: time. Time to sit together, talk, and reflect on our day as a classroom community.\r\n\r\nDuring snack, students are reminded that there are people they may never meet who care about them and want them to succeed. That message is powerful. It builds a sense of belonging and hope that extends beyond the walls of our classroom.\r\n\r\nEach day before we eat, we all cheer a grateful \"Thank you!\" to you, our donors. Your generosity has truly changed the way my students learn math.\r\n\r\nAt the beginning of the year, many of my students struggled with basic number sense. Only four out of twenty students could correctly order numbers from one to ten. Most of my class comes from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and many had very limited prior experience with hands on learning materials. Paper and pencil activities alone were not making the impact they needed.\r\n\r\nBecause of this project, my students now have access to hands on resources that help them see, touch, and understand numbers in a concrete way. We use these materials daily during math lessons and small group work. One moment that stands out was watching a student who once avoided math confidently place numbers in order and proudly check their work on their own. Moments like that are happening more and more often.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were immediately excited and curious. They wanted to explore, ask questions, and get started right away. Many of them do not often receive new learning tools, so it was clear how meaningful this experience was for them.\r\n\r\nThe growth has been incredible. By winter break, sixteen out of twenty students can quickly and successfully order numbers to ten independently. Their confidence has grown along with their skills, and they are beginning to see themselves as capable mathematicians.\r\n\r\nNext, we will continue building on this foundation by strengthening number relationships, counting forward and backward, and connecting numbers to real world situations. These resources will remain an essential part of our daily instruction as students deepen their understanding.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the opportunity to learn in a way that truly meets their needs.
