When my first graders walked in and saw the new stools and floor seating, their faces lit up. I heard lots of \"Wow!\" and \"Can I sit on that one today?\" as they rushed to try out their favorite spots.\r\n\r\nThese new seats have completely changed the way we learn together. The colorful stools are perfect for small-group lessons and centers—students can easily move them around to collaborate and share ideas. The floor cushions have created cozy reading and writing spaces where students can stretch out and focus without distraction. Giving them the choice of where and how to sit has helped them take more ownership of their learning and boosted their engagement during every subject.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching a few students sitting together on the floor cushions, quietly reading side by side and helping each other sound out tricky words. The joy and focus in that moment said it all—this new seating is making a real difference!\r\n\r\nNext, we'll keep using our flexible seating during reading groups, writing time, and hands-on learning projects. The room feels more vibrant, welcoming, and full of energy—just like my students.\r\n\r\nThank you for making our classroom brighter, cozier, and more student-centered. Your generosity brought both color and comfort to our learning space, and we're so grateful!\r\n\r\nWith appreciation,\r\nRandi Ware\r\n1st Grade Teacher","fullyFundedDate":1714427220201,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-to-the-rescue/8335991/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating to the Rescue","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ware","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9522253"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_47827","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":596,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":57,"percentWhite":24,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":61.5,"schoolId":47827,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Quitman Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Quitman Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/brooks-county-school-district/quitman-elementary-school/47827"}
