The tools in our kit—such as stress-relief toys, fidget items, calming visuals, and tactile materials—are specifically designed to support students who need extra help navigating their emotions. By integrating these tools into our daily classroom activities, I have been able to create an environment where each student feels safe, valued, and empowered to manage their feelings.\r\n\r\nAs a Social Skills teacher I push into 12 classrooms and see 84 students each week. A big part of my job is teaching our students how to develop coping strategies for the complex emotions that they experience. For our students, emotional regulation often goes hand in hand with different sensory sensitivities. The Ultimate Calming Toolkit gave me the ability to provide a variety of sensory toys that cater to such a diverse range of need\r\n\r\nOnce again, I sincerely thank you for your support. Your generosity will make a tangible difference in the lives of our students, providing them with the tools they need to grow not just as learners, but as individuals who understand and manage their emotions.","fullyFundedDate":1728049556115,"projectUrl":"project/creating-the-ultimate-calming-tool-kit/8586019/","projectTitle":"Creating the Ultimate Calming Tool Kit!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McMullin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2015702_orig.jpg?crop=972,972,x0,y405&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1552231913133","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2015702"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_130652","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":89,"percentAsian":36,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":19,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":39,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"US Census Data for the surrounding geographic area","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"Census ZCTA","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":70.4,"schoolId":130652,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS255Q @ PS11Q on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS255Q @ PS11Q","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/district-75-city-wide-programs/ps255q-ps11q/130652"}
